The Virginia Hokies Upset The Duke Blue Devils In A Thriller

Down goes the Duke Blue Devils as the Virginia Tech Hokies punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament with the home win upset! The Hokies player Chris Clarke made a put back layup with 4 seconds left in the game to get the one point victory!

Virginia Tech looks almost certain to make March Madness now as an at large team. They improve to 10-7 in the ACC with just one game remaining and now have a top 5 win over the Duke Blue Devils. Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the team in scoring tonight and shot the ball well. He made 7-14 from the field including 3-8 from downtown for 17 points. Justin Bibbs was second on the team with 14 points but struggled from the field. He only made 1-6 from deep but that didn’t stop Virginia Tech from getting the huge home win and the fans storming the court.

Duke had plenty of questions entering tonight’s game. Coach K and freshman Wendell Carter Jr. have been in the middle of a bribery scandal with the FBI over the last few weeks. But both of them were on the court tonight. Grayson Allen led the way for the Blue Devils with 22 points. He shot only 4-15 from the 3 point line and had 6 costly turnovers.

The Blue Devils will try and bounce back when they have their regular season ending game against the North Carolina Tarheel on Saturday. The Hokies will end their ACC regular season at the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday but should feel good about their post season prospects regardless of the outcome of that game.
