The Virginia Cavaliers answered a tough test tonight at home against the Louisville Cardinals as they won 74-64. The #2 team in the country extended their incredible record to 21-1 on the season after Wednesday nights impressive win.
The over/under in the game was set at 124 points so the gambling experts did not expect a ton of points. Virginia got off to a hot start in the first half. They only average the 287th points per game in the country but they had early success against the difficult Louisville 2-3 defense. Behind the hot shooting of Kyle Guy, the Cavaliers were up 32-26 at the half.

The second half had even more offense in what was expected to be a slow game. Both teams shot 50% or better from the field on the night and over 44% from the 3 point line. Kyle Guy, Ty Jerome, and Devon Hall proved too much in the final 20 minutes for the Louisville Cardinals to overcome. Virginia would have one of their best offensive halves of the year and put up 42 points to get the 74-64 win.
Junior Ray Spalding was the leading scorer for the Cardinals. He shot the ball great and made 8-10 from the field for 16 points. Deng Adel was second on the team in scoring with 15 points on 5-9 from the field and 3-5 from downtown.

The Louisville Cardinals are back in action on Saturday when they host the Florida State Seminoles. The Virginia Cavaliers will face a tough road test on Saturday at the Syracuse Orangemen. Syracuse is 15-7 on the year including 4-5 in ACC play. They are desperate for a signature win as they are on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. It will not be easy for Virginia to escape that game with a win.
