  • Telekinesis, related to the paranormal, consists of moving objects with the mind without the need to perform any physical movement, although there are several studies of the paranormal that relate the fact of carrying out several experiments, this topic it is not accepted in various parts of science. The beliefs that you can have this "power" is quite old, but your information of scientific ways began to emerge in the year 1800, for then, the spiritualistic practices was something normal to see, it was speculated that levitating and moving objects was thanks to the communications that were made with the dead.

  • In the year 1940, the scientist named Joseph Banks Rhine, also known as JB Rhine, was a pioneer of parapsychology who began to perform telekinesis exams in individuals, one of his most common methods were to ask the individuals to alter the result of the dice, logically the results were not enough to be able to think that such power existed. but for the doctor enough was enough to believe in it, several of his methods had several errors, so the tests were never conclusive.

FALSE TELEKINESIS

  • While telekinesis was going viral at that time, several people were trying to earn money by posing as psychics to perform fake acts of telekinesis, such as the famous magic ball, this in its beginning was more credible, but over the years, thanks to such farce these things stopped being interesting to the public.

  • Uri Geller, an Israeli illusionist (known for claiming to have psychic powers) was well known for that time, he managed to spores with the mind, this trick was not proven in the way of telekinesis since this same trick could be done by magicians. In the 70s, the Israeli illusionist was challenged by Randall James Hamilton Zwinge, better known as James Randi, another illusionist who claimed that the Israeli had no psychic powers, that he was a charlatan trying to be famous by doing tricks that were already relatively known. Randi published a book about Uri Geller and a YouTube video where he dismantled the "telekinesis" tricks of the Israeli, who sent several demands about the book and requested that the video of James Randi be removed.

MYTH

  • Is a myth when we say that we only use 10% of our brain, and that by using more of this we could already do unexplainable things, several scientific studies say that in all activity we do we use all our brain, including in games or simple tasks enters all the strength of our brain. Another factor to take into account, is that physical laws would not allow our brain to move objects, to date there is not enough evidence to think that telekinesis exists, nowadays there are only several people who use this theme to cheat the people.

FICTION

  • In the part of the movies, series and videogames have turned this subject into something quite striking, here are some titles where you can appreciate telekinesis:
