•What is Global Warming?

It is a gradual rise in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere usually ascribed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased emission of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other waste from human activities(pollutants).

In recent years, the world has started to experience a very fast and continuous increase in temperature more worst than has ever been recorded. And scientists are of the view that; unless we limit the discharge of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, over the next century, temperature may rise up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

Current Consequences Of Global Warming?

Effect On The U.S Region:

Below are current predominant effect of global warming on the U.S region. These current effect will continue to increase according to the Third National Climate Assessment report, which was released by the U.S Global Change Research Program:

Southwest: Drought, insect outbreaks, and increased heat, all associated to the current climate change, have increased the spread of wildfires. Decreasing water supplies, reduction in agricultural yields, erosion and flooding in coastal areas, health effects in cities all as a result of intensive heat.

Southeast: Intensive heat will affect health, agricultural activities and its yields, energy and more. Rise in the sea level is a continuous threat to the region's environment and economy. Shortage in the availability of water will have both environmental and economic effect.

Midwest: The intensive heat, flooding and heavy down pours will have effect on health, infrastructure, agriculture, transportation, forestry, quality of water and air and so many more. The climate change will pose a threat to the Great Lakes.

Northeast: Many aspect of life in the Northeast is currently facing challenges ranging from heavy downpours, rise in sea level and heat waves. States and cities are now including climate change into their programmes.

Northwest: Increasing Ocean acidity, Rise in sea level, inundation, erosion, and risks to infrastructure have become major threat to the people of the region. Massive tree die-off as a result of tree diseases and insect outbreaks, increasing wildfire.

Future Consequences of Global warming:

According to scientists, the current global warming will continue to take a turn for the worst for decades to come, mainly as a result of the greenhouse gases generated by the human activities.
According to the Third National Climate Assessment Reports, below are some of the long-term consequences of Global Warming:

•Continuous Rise In Temperature

The present temperature will rise by 2°C and 4.5°C by 2100, and these will result to an increase in heat wave.

•There Will Be Stronger And Intense Hurricane:

Since the beginning of the 1980s, there have been records of increasing hurricanes, even the frequency duration and intensity of the North Atlantic hurricane have greatly increased. As the climate continuous to warm, the rate Of rainfalls and hurricane-associated storms will intensify.

•Artic May Become Ice-free:

Artic, one of the world's five major oceans may likely be ice-free before middle of the century.

•Increased Deposit Of Black Soots In The Atmosphere:

There will be an increase in the deposit of black Soots. In Nigeria Some Residents are currently Panicking Over Falling Of Hazardous Black Soots From The Sky. The black soots are the direct result of the intensive industrial activities.

•Increase In Drought And Heat Waves:

Accoding to NASA, Drought and heat waves is said to become abnormally intense in every part of the world in the nearest future, while cold waves will be less intensive.

According to one of the studies published on Feb 12, 2015 by NASA in Science Advances; shows that the drought in the Central Plain and the Southwest of the United States May likely last longer and drier than anything the human race have ever experienced or seen in the last one thousand years (1000years).

Temperature will continue to rise during summer, and there will be intense reduction of soil moisture, which will aggravate the heat waves in the Central and Western U.S. duringp summer. Extreme heat events that used to occur once-in-20-years, will now begin to occure every 2 or 3 years in most nations.

•Increase In WildFire In American West:

Global Warming will lead to early snow melting, melting glaciers and intensive drought. All this things mentioned, will combine to cause drastic water shortages and will make West America more vulnerable to Wildfires.

•Sea Level Will Increase 1-4 Feet In 2100:

Since 1880 when record keeping began to be reliable, the Global Sea level has increased by 8inches. It has also been said to rise again 1-4 Feet by 2100. The rise in sea level is a direct result from The melting land ice, which is causing seawater exansion as it warms.

•Conclusion:

In case you don't know, mother earth is currently sick and needs each and every one of us to contribute in healing her.
The prime aim of putting up these piece of article, is to employ every one of us to play our various parts in healing mother earth again.

There are several ways we can contribute to heal mother earth;(1) you can decide to use utility companies that are capable of generating atleast half of it's power from solar or wind and is approved by Green-e Energy
(2)Speak Up: talk to your family and friends, educate them on the effects of Global Warming so they can always make the right decision. You can begin, by Upvoting and Resteeming this post so every one will be aware of the impending doom that will befall us if they don't make the right decisions.
Remember change begins with you...
