LED lamps, whatever one may say, but the benefits have more than other types of lighting equipment. Ecological, economical consumption, long service life. By the way, the latter is often overshadowed by an early breakdown. And as the cost of such a lamp is quite impressive, then, as much as possible, it would be very desirable to return to it the former possibility of further exploitation. Is it possible to repair LED (LED) lamps by myself? Yes. Undoubtedly, if you know a few tricks, before you do such a competent job.
What needs to be checked before repair?
you probably know about the elementary procedure for measuring phase and line voltage in the network. Therefore, before repairing the LED lamp, make sure that there is voltage in it. After all, it may not be in the light source itself, but somewhere in the wiring area, the chandelier. If the voltage is present, then we unscrew the lamp from the base and prepare for repair.
Care should be taken to disassemble the lamp. Remember exactly where the parts are fastened and what is the fastening system. Each stage can be photographed or recorded, but in fact the design is elementary simple. The LED lamp consists of the following parts:
- socle;
- lamp housing;
- diffuser of light matte milky dome;
- under the dome is a round board with LEDs;
- Below are the power supply drivers (often with breakdowns - a transformer rectifier, which makes the lamp cheap and not durable in operation).
For work you will need:
a multimeter, which will determine the place of breakdown.
This is in case it can not be localized with the naked eye, then use a similar device (for example, check the LED with a multimeter);
Also, the soldering iron will not interfere to reconnect the LEDs and the power supply; screwdriver for unscrewing bolts and separating spare parts from the base;
A scalpel or knife with a thin blade.
Checking LED bulb on its own - procedure

The search for a breakdown is similar to a visit to a doctor - one by one needs to check all the patient's organs and make a diagnosis. Therefore, repair of LED lamps also has its own algorithm of alternate actions:
- Disassembly is simple, but requires accurate hands.
- Pry a thin screwdriver with a dome dome light bulb and remove it.
- Sometimes it is tight, but still this part is subject to removal.
- Unscrew the screws that are on the LED board.
- Again, we lift the plate and tear it from its augmented place.
- The cap is separated, like a grandmother's jar.
- The pressed point notches hold the socle with the body. Bend neatly the sides of the cap in precisely the squashed sections along the entire circumference.
- A little effort - and the cap is removed. With a knife we separate the wiring on the LED board. Now you can remove the power supply. Done.
- After the lamp in disassembled form lies in front of you on the table, you should start a visual inspection: burnt or floated areas and there is a focus of dysfunction of your device.
Most often this applies to the power supply. But problems on the board or in the burnt wiring require a soldering.
What if you do not have a soldering station with a hair dryer, no experience? Just replace the block with a new one. These can be purchased at the store. It will be much cheaper. Also, the lamp will serve you to 35 000 - 50 000 hours.
- Perhaps the problem is in a current-limiting capacitor, its diodes or a resistor. All the details are carefully "tapped" with a multimeter. He will certainly find a breakdown site if he is here. The reason can be related to the LEDs.
- Some burned-out elements you will see and so. Others need to be worked out with a multimeter. But the easiest way to use a battery is like a battery.
Naturally, the faulty LEDs will not light up. To change them, you still need a soldering iron and a neat hand of the master, this can not get away from nowhere. Here, choose yourself: buy a new lamp or pay for the service of piping. In brief about the purchase: select the same LEDs, as in your lamp. There are different qualities and even shade (bluish, blue).
- LED lamps that "wink" to their owner - this is clearly a signal about the poor quality of the capacitor. Its replacement will allow the lamp to burn brightly and without unnerving illuminations.
That's all the tricks of self-repair of LED RGB and monochrome lamps. A teenager, a master, and a strong woman can cope with this. Bright light of your home!

Really interesting post, but I guess I'm missing the accurate hands for this disassembly. :D
