Installation of 750Watt Solar Array: Solar Power System

in steemstem •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello Steemians, I am Kenny Gee @olajidekehinde. I am an Elect/Elect Engineering graduate. I'm an Expert in Solar energy. I provide power solutions through solar energy. As an Entrepreneur, I manage a solar firm 'TechPeach Solar energy'

TechPeach Solar Energy is a private company which provides products and services on renewable energy. TechPeach Solar energy focuses mainly on solar energy, a renewable free source of energy that is sustainable and inexhaustible. TechPeach solar energy provides Solar-Inverter power system design, installation, repair & maintenance services as well as training on the system.
So I decided to share one of my recent work done by TechPeach to wonderful steemians

Here we go

Solar Energy is a clean source of electricity that suits a wide range of applications including residence, industry etc.
Solar panel , Inverter , charge controller and battery bank constitutes the major components needed for a solar power system. These Components are selected according to system type, site locations and applications

The Solar array is an essential part of the system that converts sunlight directly into DC electricity

A 750W solar array was installed for domestic use to power basic appliances with a 1KVA inverter system.

The solar array consists of Five 150W, 12V photovoltaic module connected in parallel giving out maximum amperage for effective battery charging. The solar array was mounted on the building rooftop at an angle where maximum irradiance is captured all through sunshine period

This is a very important part of solar installation process which requires adequate survey in getting this direction suitable for effective and maximum radiation to the solar array for best performance of the system.

The solar power system installation was completed by connecting the solar array to the battery bank via the charge controller coupled with the use of inverter for conversion from a DC source to AC supply for home use

Thanks for the post. Solar power is a fantastic source of energy, hopefully one day in the future we can develop much more efficient ways of harnessing the suns energy.

It has been proposed to put solar panes on the moon. These would not need to be so robust as on Earth, there is no weathering effects on the moon, so solar panel could be as thing as possible. The energy could be transmitted to earth through a microwave signal from the Moon. I'd like to see this happen. Although I guess this would be bad news for oil firms.

It has been proposed to put solar panes on the moon

I hope it will happen one day.

Yeah me too. I think there's lots of things we can do to change how we use energy on Earth, but fat cats won't let it happen as of yet, and we are still creating wars for power of oil for example. It's a shit state I think....

Solar energy has a wide array of uses. It can also be used to run calculators, swimming pool heating, solar oven or solar cooker.
There is no doubt that solar energy is going to play a significant role in meeting demand-supply gap for electricity.

Good one here . we would grab this

Well done kenny G. I so much love solar technology although its quite expensive and i cant afford it yet i made a solar egg incubator as my final year thesis. I would be sharing that very soon.

Thanks @adetola

How industrious of you, but we're there design calculations? What materials you used, are there different types of installation?

I feel you should put those in the article.

Thumbs up @olajidekehinde. Solar power is indeed a good source of electricity. Thanks for highlighting the benefits. However, what are the limitations on the use of solar power? I am aware that it is not really affordable.

It's quite expensive to install and also with the limitation that amount of sunlight that is received on earth is dependent on location, time of the day, time of year and weather conditions which may affect the performance and efficiency of the system

Thanks for the update. It's a good source of energy that has no limit.

That's some portable system. Looks to me like a 1KVA 12V inverter. The charge controller that you used is that an MPPT type? Seeing those guys standing on that roof is a little bit scary to see. Did you install with an already made aluminium roof mount or you made one off an aluminium rail? Good job here. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like you very knowledgeable as regards solar power...You right! 1KVA 12V inverter, the charge controller is of 40A MPPT...Made use of aluminium rail...Appriciate!

That's awesome, the batteries will easily get charged. At least under light loads he'd get up to 7 hours of backup. Yes, I'm a huge fan of renewable energy. How much could one get such an MPPT? Looks like it's made by Sukam

You are right! The battery charges so fast with the panel design
This MPPT of 40A costs around 45-50k, not by Sukam, it's from China(Techfine)

One of my subsequent post will be on MPPT...

That's cool, I wrote about solar charge controllers three months ago in this post here.
But if I'm the customer I'd increase my batteries to two and connect both in parallel to get an extended backup :)

I'm gon check the post out
The client has the plan of adding up soon...Thanks brother
It's been nice interacting with you on this..!

Thank you.

Solar is a nice source of power, so by all indications you are in the right direction. Nice👍

Solar panel are very fantastic I wanted it too but expensive

Solar power is the future

Solar Power is still very expensive, the world and researchers are still finding way out to a more cheaper and sustainable source of renewable energy .

Excelente publicación

Solar is a potential green energy system I feel impressed with. You did well here

I enjoyed this post both the comments. I've always wanted free and easily accessible source of electricity. I will be looking forward to own one soon

Great work you are doing Kenny.
Keep soaring!
