The Dark Sides of Einstein

in steemstem •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello Steemians, a very happy new year to you all. I wish you all have a good time here in Steemit this year. Today, as my first post of this year, I bring to you my new post about the failed love stories of the most intelligent person ever born on earth, Einstein. Please go through it and discover the other faces of Einstein.

Einstein, my scientific hero has no match in the entire human history. The most intelligent human born on earth did miracles with his supernatural brain power. Starting from Photoelectric Effect to Theory of Relativity to Quantum Mechanics, where has he not made his name? At the age of just 26 years, being a mere low profile patent clerk he changed the Classical Physics concepts with his Miracle Year papers of 1905. And in the year 2015, he made his biggest achievement by overthrowing the century long concept of Gravity based on Newton's Law of Gravity. Usually people din't celebrated a scientist during those times. But, with his revolutionary ideas he made people love physics and Einstein became a celebrity and a household name overnight.

However, some dark sides of Einstein are shadowed by his scientific achievements which I think may interest the readers. Knowing the dark side of Einstein may turn you to hate Einstein to the same extent you love him. Did you know that Einstein was a many-woman guy? Let us dig into his affairs and know, which, some say, the cruel love life of the most intelligent person born on earth.

Marie Winteller

In 1895 Einstein attended the Agrovian Cantonal School in Aarau, Switzerland to complete his secondary schooling and lodged at Professor Jost Winteller's. Einstein fell in love with Winteller's daughter, Marie. Their relationship was working normal until Einstein enrolled into the Zurich-Polytechnic. At the beginning, Einstein used to send letters and baskets of his laundry to Marie. Marie used to wash and return the clothes back to him. But, soon the relationship started fading away. In the letters which were made public at the Bern Historical Museum in an exhibition, Einstein requested her not to correspond with him anymore. May be Einstein didn't want to end up marrying her. When Einstein's friends asked him about his failing relationship with Marie, Einstein had said that he didn't want to end up marrying someone who didn't understand his work. Einstein wanted someone with whom he could discuss his scientific ideas. In this way the relationship ended finally. But wait, there were more in his fate.

Mileva Maric

Einstein met Mileva Maric at the Zurich-Polytechnic, where she was the only women among Eintein's fellow students at the Polytechnic. Mileva hailed from a wealthy family in Titel of the present day Serbia. Mileva was kind of Einstein and rejoiced the beauty of science and mathematics and was ambitious about her scientific carrier like Einstein. She was excellent in mathematics since her early age and was the only student in the class who could outperform Einstein in the class.

Mileva's passion for physics and mathematics caught the heart of Einstein. Einstein approached her in many ways but Mileva was well conscious about her ambitions. She thought that, being committed to a relationship may distract her. But, Einstein would convince her that they would help each other and co-develop ideas and theories and finally Mileva would agree on this condition. The two had a child daughter out of wedlock, Lieserl born in 1902. Einstein was a person with a random personality. He sometimes showed tenderness and sometimes cruel and sometimes an irresponsible husband and father. Due to his carelessness, Lieserl died in 1903. Her death caused cracks in the relationship. The duo married in the same year and had two children, Hans Albert and Eduard. In the mean time Einstein got a job as a patent clerk at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern.

The two used to work together discussing ideas and helping each other. The two would discover new ideas and Mileva would prove them mathematically. But, later Einstein found himself so busy with his work that he hardly gave any eye on his family. Mileva had to be busy the whole day with the domestic tasks and taking care of the children. This made Mileva feel worthless as the duo had married with a condition that they would cooperate each other in their scientific works. But, Einstein's negligence worsened the relationship. The most cruel thing that Einstein did to Mileva was that, despite being the major contributor to Einstein's most of the papers Eintein never mentioned her name in any of his papers. Instead he mentioned Michele Besso, who was his close friend since the Zurich Polytechnic days to the Swiss Patent Office who also helped him in his papers.

Because of these reasons their relationship worsened more and more. Einstein was fed up of the relationship. Einstein once wrote, "Mileva was the most suspicious woman in the world". Einstein would later lay down a series of conditions on a paper to continue his marriage with her:

A. You will make sure:

1. that my clothes and laundry are kept in good order;
2. that I will receive my three meals regularly in my room;
3. that my bedroom and study are kept neat, and especially that my desk is left for my use only.

B. You will renounce all personal relations with me insofar as they are not completely necessary for social reasons. Specifically, You will forego:

1. my sitting at home with you;
2. my going out or travelling with you.

C. You will obey the following points in your relations with me:

1. you will not expect any intimacy from me, nor will you reproach me in any way;
2. you will stop talking to me if I request it;
3. you will leave my bedroom or study immediately without protest if I request it.

D. You will undertake not to belittle me in front of our children, either through words or behavior.

They separated in 1913 and Mileva took the sons with her and divorced in 1919. As a divorce deal Einstein compensated her with the money earned with the Nobel Prize in 1921.

Elsa Einstein

Did you know, Einstein had an incestuous relationship with his cousin Elsa?Elsa Einstein was the first cousin of Einstein. Albert and Elsa's mothers were sisters. During family visits to Munich, Elsa used to play with Albert and used to call him, Albertle in Swabian dialect. In 1894, the two parted ways when Albert's family moved to Milan.

Elsa was married to a textile trader Max Löwenthal in Berlin with whom she had three children. In 1908, she divorced from Max and moved with her children to an apartment at Haberlandstrasse 5, in Berlin.

Einstein married Elsa the same year he divorced with Mileva. Although the two did not have children, Albert raised Elsa's daughters as his own. Elsa was a caring wife unlike Mileva who didn't have any passion for her own as such. She would take care of Albert by acting as a gatekeeper, protecting him from unwelcome visitors and doing the household works for Albert.

In 1933 the duo emigrated to Princeton, New Jersey. In 1935 Elsa diagnosed with heart and kidney problems. Einstein was mentally disturbed at the condition of Elsa. He used to spend time in his works to avoid these troubles. In 1936 on 20th December Elsa breathed her last. Einstein was broken at her death and felt himself alone.

Margarita Konenkova, the Suspected Russian Spy

Few years after Elsa's death Einstein might have been engaged in an affair with Margarita Konenkova, who was latter suspected to be a Russian spy(code name: Lukas) and was in a mission to look over the Manhattan Project. She might have been directed by Moscow for getting close to J. Robert Oppenheimer who was actively engaged with the Manhatten Project. Einstein was clueless about her secret.

One will always question, "How someone with such a divine brain, could fail such a simple thing, love, that too multiple times?". We see that the much the almighty bestows a man, the much he takes in return. Einstein did revolutionary work for the entire world, but couldn't simply take care of his family. He sometimes behaved like the most caring guy to his woman, then sometimes a heartless lover. These were the dark sides of the genius, our Einstein.

Great article. There is a TV series called 'Genius' mostly about his personal life. I really like that because you never get to see his personal life. They always talk about is theories but we never get to know him as a human.

Yes I have watched it. I have put it in the reference. Check it.

Einstein was a zionist. That knocks him down a peg in my book.

I haven't researched that before or heard it stated,,, if true I'm in accord with your perspective,,,, but since he didn't move to Isis-Ra-El i'm not positive that is the case without backup evidnce.

I din't get what you just said.

Israel is the combination of 3 GOD names,,,, ISIS - the god of sex and verginity,,,, RA - the Sun God etc. and EL- who is the bull Muloc and also is represented by Saturn (some say Satan) hence:

Isis-Ra-El or ISRAEL

I don't think that these things are of any relevance in this century. I adore him of his brilliance, that is what will remain till humans are there on earth.

Okay Einstein wasn't so much of a bad guy, i think he was more of a sharp guy

His being sharp has no connection being him a bad guy.

I was actually referring to the idea of him having many women in his life

Having many woman is not a big deal if he had all of them happy ending.

nice

I love this.... Well he is human after all... If you understand what I mean. Lol

yeah dude...I deeply understand it 😝

you say "One will always question, "How someone with such a divine brain, could fail such a simple thing, love, that too multiple times?".

I don't think love is a simple thing! Furthermore, I think he loved with his whole life, it is just the flames went out. He was a free man who did not want to be tied or ruled. He had the courage to say no when he did not want to continue any more

I dont think love is that much of a difficult think. Almost all of us fall in love but only a few has got the brainpower like that of him
