SteemSTEM Distilled #34

in steemstem •  7 years ago  (edited)

Welcome to the 34th issue of SteemSTEM Distilled, a curation effort by the members of the @steemstem team.

SteemSTEM is a community driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts on Steemit. The project involves curating STEM-related posts through upvoting, resteeming, offering constructive feedback, supporting scientific contests, and other related activities.

For more details, a recent update on the steemSTEM can be found here, and a not so recent one there. Moreover, if you ask yourself about what it means to be part of steemSTEM, please check here.

Our team scours the platform for original and quality content.

After working through thousands (literally!) of STEM-related posts and upvoting more than 150 that we deemed to be worthy, we proudly present you our top 8 handpicked choices for this Thursday-Sunday period.

A few words about the nomination process

For the sake of transparency we feel we need to clarify how our nomination process works; each issue is compiled by certain members of the SteemSTEM community. This week's editorial team was comprised of @zest and @ruth-girl.

The editorial team chooses their favorite posts for the week and each issue is the result of their joined effort. In order to keep the process fair, posts written by the editorial team are excluded from the nomination process.

Don't be discouraged if you didn't make it on this issue. The competition is harsh and there is always a next time :) In the meantime, you may wish to check these guidelines for extra tips on how your writing can be more effective.

Authors That Received a Curie Upvote by the SteemSTEM Team

In the same spirit of being transparent about our actions that are now supported by @curie, we will release every week a list of authors who have caught the attention of the @steemstem curation team.

If you want to discuss this with us, please do not hesitate to join the steemSTEM discord server or to follow our curation trail (just ask us for more information on the chat for details).

From March 11 to 18, we rewarded 58 different authors who have written a total of 64 different articles. The authors who received both a @steemstem and a @curie vote that week are:

@addempsea, @adetola, @alexbeyman, @aliyu-s, @amavi, @arrrados, @chloroform, @cristi, @cryptogee, @cryptowani, @cuarzo05, @damzxyno, @davidrhodes124, @dedicatedguy, @deusjudo, @dexterdev, @drifter1, @effofex, @egotheist, @erh.germany, @etcmike, @giornalista, @ideas-abstractas, @jepper, @jringo, @justyy, @kedi, @lauch3d, @lorenzor, @masterwu, @mayrie28, @mcw, @mdosev, @mittymartz, @mountain.phil28, @mrbreeziewrites, @nataschachem, @parejan, @physics.benjamin, @procrastilearner, @proteus-h, @pweetyify, @robotics101, @saywha, @scisteem, @simplifylife, @sogless, @sooflauschig, @stabilowl, @steenshare, @techslut, @temitayo-pelumi, @tensor, @terrylovejoy, @tfcoates, @valth, @wisdomdavid, @zija2022

Two microbiology posts this time! Awesome!

Congrats to everyone...but especially the microbiologists :)

Thanks

They seem to rule the world for now :D

Big congrats to all the featured authors, and to everyone that made it to this episode of steemstem distilled.
Steemstem rocks

And thanks to you for everything you do :)

It's an honour sir :)

I really liked @aamin's post. It's so creative! A fusion of lovestory plus a discussion on food poisoning. Amazing! Good job to everybody! See you on the next distilled fam 😀🌸

I also like those authors who mix personal or funny stories with science :)

It makes science more fun and interesting. 😀

I am 100% agreeing with you on this one! :)

We already at 34th? Time flies when you are steeming science! Good job team. I find @whytepresh post quite fascinating. Thank you all for making STEM great again.

Yep, time flies! :D

Speaking of flies.... Here's a photo.of the world's largest fly :

Mydas_sp..JPG

Too small.. Not enough to feed 4 people :)

Thanks @greenrun, I really appreciate your feedback, expect more fascinating posts from me. 😀

Well done @steemstem team and congratulation to the authors. Indeed, am happy to see my friend's post @trumpman on the list. They all truly deserve it.

trumpinou and his insects... ;)

Is he an entomologist or something?

Ask him :)

Another great selection of posts @steemstem.

Note:
I think you have made a mistake in one of the links. The link of Schrödinger's Biggest Cat: "Quantum In Real Life" leads to a post from a different user than @gokhan83kurt when I click it.

Thanks! It is fixed ^^

:D

wow!! wonderful combination made by @ruth-girl and @zest. Great Job. Congrats to our authors. They indeed need to be given a round of applause. Forward Ever STEEMSTEM!!

Well done #steemSTEM team and community. Congratulations to the authors. Oh, I love the way @trumpman writes. I am yet to read his post of large insects but I'm sure it is awesome.

It is so good to be here in steemstem where science is the new cool.

I agree. He is awesome!

Is he? :D

steemstem is really educating lots of steemians that are not just STEM inclined but professionals in other fields . Whenever I want to learn something new or just want to refresh my brain.... I head down to read all the posts under the steemstem tag. Really love this!

Thanks! We are doing the best to make the 'hot' and 'trending' sections of the steemstem tag interesting.

Great collection of authors as usual, after a few days away it's always nice to come back to a go-to reading list :)

We will keep releasing it continuously, don't worry. Note that you can also follow our curation channel to get the list of the posts we vote in real time ^^

Barely have time to eat and drink with study atm... but looking forward to getting back into it soon :)

We will stay tuned ^^

It's been a while I read through distilled. Finally had time. Beautiful stuff.

As always! Those distilled are really the posts that are appreciated the most by the team (which doe not mean we didn't appreciate all the others, but a choice has to be made at some point).

Yea...I select posts for stemng digest and I know how tough selecting posts can be especially where there are so many good posts.

My dream is: getting a 350-face dice and being allowed to throw it to get the post to be featured on the distilled. This would mean: 350 good posts a week! :)

I’m currently doing a visual video art exhibition based around the “spooky actions at a distance” on quantum mechanics!!! Love to see it become mainstream I’m trying to make it more understandable for the everyday person

Fantastic selection as always steemSTEM ! :)

Hey man! Been a while

I was about to say it!

Thank you for this recognition!

The pleasure was for us :)

Well done once again for your careful selection of these post.@zest and @ruth-girl.We will all continue to work together for the greatness of this community.

Some intresting stuff out there,,the competition is definitely paying off

It is not really a competition :)

:)

" The competition is harsh and there is always a next time "

You are welcome mate!

Can this be counted as spam? 😂

Do you think we should flag?

Let's put him under observation for a few days 😜

I am under constant phyciatric observation so I don't think I need it!

You may need a second opinion? :D

Blowing your own trumpet ahn?

Why have I read this comment?! :D
