- It is? Or It is not the highest mountain in the world?

Everest is the highest mountain in the world (29.029 ft or 8848m) if we measure it from sea level. However, there are other mountains higher than this, if we use another parameter to calculate its height, for example The Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and the Mauna Kea volcano in Hawaii are higher, if we measure them from the base in which they are settled.

-Where is it?

It is located between the border of Nepal and China. In Nepal it receives the name of Sagarmatha and in China I known as Chomolungma or Qomolangma Feng.

Until 1865 Mount Everest was known as Peak XV.

- Who are the ‘Sherpas’?

Sherpas are a Nepalese ethnic group who are vital to climb Everest. They help to carry the heaviest packages to mountaineers and use oxygen in a more efficient way than people who live in places at sea level. Also they have more physical strength, a physiognomy suitable for heights.
I think they have the most dangerous job in the world. In 2014, 13 Sherpas died and 3 disappeared in an avalanche in the Everest.

-The HIGHEST GARBAGE DUMP on earth

Mount Everest is officially considered one of the most polluted mountains in the world, due to the lack of infrastructure and the heavy influx of tourists who leave garbage, ranging from simple food packages to cylinders of oxygen and old equipment that are stored and accumulated for decades in this sacred mountain for the local community.
It is estimated that climbers have left in their wake more than 50 tons of garbage. A new rule of the government of Nepal requires that each climber bring at least 8 kilos of trash with them after descending.
