Also, just a bit of fact check, Tridacna sp is the genus for saltwater clams. The Latin binomial for crown of thorns is Ancathaster planci. Saw one of these nasty seastars while freediving at Kontiki this morning! Planning to survey the rest of the area to see if we can organize a COT removal dive. You should join us if you happen to be in Cebu by then :D
Line transect method @xaydtrips. Yes, thank you those are Acanthaster sp. COT. It would be really great to form a group removal for the same. I hope to join dive groups with purpose like this. 😍👌
