Steemstreet Journal: Local Steemit CEO Troubled Over Who Will Build the Roadmap

Roanoke, VI - Local Steemit, INC. CEO Ned Scott has hit a proverbial roadblock in his endeavors to bring a decentralized, blockchain-based social media site to the mainstream.

Turns out, during the development of Steemit, the libertarian minded development team failed to address the question of who would build the Roadmap and the project is now in a traffic jam.

Road related difficulties and hardship are definitely nothing new to the libertarian scene; the failure to come up with a sufficient answer to any variation of "But who will build the wide ways leading from one place to another, especially one with a specially prepared surface which vehicles can use?" has been the Achille's heel of the liberty movement since its inception.

"We really should have come up with who will build the Roadmap before we even started with the project", says Ned. "I guess it just slipped our minds during development. We are now at a crossroads - the last place we ever wanted to be."

Critics have speculated that the very idea of a Roadmap was simply too government-centric to even enter the libertarian minds of the Steemit team. The Roadmap remains postponed as of right now, with alternative methods being looked at.

"Steemit is the social network of the future. Perhaps in the future, we won't even need roads. We're looking into the funding of flying cars with STEEM. This would allow us to evade this rather awkward question. We will look into different possibilities until we discover the truth", the ever persistent CEO confidently states.

But who will build the Roadmap?

"No one knows."

Wow, a satire actually inspires accurate information to come out! I don't think I have ever seen that before until now!

Oh, well, thanks for the info, even though this post was purely for comedy.

Hi @ned , Roadmap or not that platform is working great so far from a new user perspective. The road should attract more serious investors.

Thank you your efforts so far!

Cheers

I'm confused.....surely there was a development roadmap that took Steemit to this point. So having a roadmap is clearly not the issue. Given that Steemit.inc controls the Steemit account, surely Steemit.inc is responsible for the roadmap because it has most of the power and funds....along with the majority of expertise and incentives (though with community input.) Steemit.inc were funding contributors to Busy....obviously considered a natural and valuable part of the roadmap for the steem platform. Surely just come up with a set of sensible goals for Steem development and marketing.....show the community and galvanize everyone to get there. If there's something in the roadmap that is perceived to be a problem, it can be discussed and adjusted. I'm sure there is plenty of low-hanging fruit that everyone can get behind without contention.

If that is not the way, then burn the entire steemit.inc account (minus whatever stake is fair for everything already accomplished by steemit.inc...though most of the key players have the largest individual accounts ) or use it to massively escalate steem distribution both to those already contributing and to bringing more people into steem who can continue building.

I'd appreciate a post from Dan or Ned explicitly talking about the issues here. I'm probably missing something as usual.

I love it... as satire.

From
"who will build the roads"
to
"who will build the roadmaps"

I appreciate the satire in the post....the question is, why is it necessary. There does seem to be an issue with producing roads or cars. The question is why? That's what I'm trying to address.

I will answer this question again, as I have always answered this question.

As a roadmap builder, the son of a roadmap builder, I will build the roadmap.
It doesn't matter how its financed, whether by selling of bonds, political promises, stolen money or some weird, futuristic computer-currency, I build the roadmaps.

Needs more road puns. :-)

  • traffic jam
  • crossroad
  • highway
  • fast lane
  • red light

You know the drill.... ;-)

Hah, good call. I actually made a few edits. :)

LOL - thanks for the research! :-D Finally we know what is really going on with that famous 'roadmap'.
A map would still be fine, but maybe roads are overrated. Ned upvoted my post about 'alpha males' - I bet on him to be the map designer! :-)

Thanks fort the research!

This might sound a little greek to you @schattenjaeger, but I am delighted to hear that news! If we were in a plan, I would be most horrified!
I, as I am sure do many others, have a concept of how the future could/should look and it could look exceptional!
This platform was designed and started by some extremely clever techies (a term of reverence!) and it now needs to be shaped by 'people' people. Before that can be done, there needs to be a shovel - as opposed to a fork - which recognises the early adopters and risk takers such that the playing field is a little flatter.
I have a structure but there is not a cat's chance in hell I am releasing it!
Every time I moot anything of the sort, they all read it and cannot be arsed to reply. The Emperor appears to have been to the tailor!
Resteemed this because not only are you an exceptional thinker, but also this is important!

It will happen. The masses will make it happen. STEEMIT is at a point where FB and any other Technology Shift has been in the passed. 30 years tells me..!! It will shift at a flick of a switch. You just have to have patience. Stephen

Muh road mapz!

This is a great bit of comedy. I wish I would have seen it seven hours ago.

"Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves." - Henry David Thoreau.

Enjoyed the post!

Great bit of satire. To GPS or not to GPS, that is the questions!

Did you talk to him? There was a roadmap of sorts on https://steem.io/ from when they started, but it's gone now.

Obviously flying cars don't need roads :)

wedontneedroads

Exactly!
