I heard Your bell tool from a distance
From afar off Your bell called;
It jerked me awake from my slumber
And set me whole into a spontaneous reaction.
It is not what I want that I do
Neither do I go where I please
For in Your toll is a will.
So then I must go answer the bell for it still keeps tolling for me

Here I am life-jerking bell:
Instruct me, hence, according to your will.
You pound in head and push in my heart
I am ready to hear and react the same
Send me where you may in your will
But toll, plead I, ahead of me as I go
Tell them I come with your voice in my heart,
To speak your will that will guide them so
Jerk in grace to me and to them
So that your toll be not in vain.
Your will is great, as is the call,
For all in the earth must hear your voice and come to you .
