To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

King Solomon in his introduction gave at least nine reasons why we should read the book of Proverbs. He lists the following as goals, which are vital for success in life...

• Subtilty
• Understanding
• Instruction
• Wisdom
• Justice
• Judgment
• Discretion
• Knowledge

We will touch on four of them:

• Wisdom
• Justice
• Judgement
• Equity

You were born into this world selfish & ignorant. Because of Adam your heart has depraved and perverted affections. This causes you to not have the ability to perceive and reason correctly. You will not be wise or right until God regenerates you with a new heart, because you remain selfish and perverse. To bring your mind up to speed after regeneration you need instruction.

Only humble and submissive readers will receive the instruction from the wise King Solomon. Regenerated persons when reading the book of Proverbs will be taught justice, wisdom, judgement and equity. Pride in a man fights against being corrected and taught by another human being, because he thinks he is wise and that he is right all the time.

What is wisdom reader? I'll tell you. It is the power of right judgement. It is the analytical ability to look at a situation and correctly decide on the godly and right attitude to make a decision or give a response. Wisdom looks further than the obvious or the apparent to discover the true nature of that situation or thing.

What is justice reader? It is when you choose solutions that are just and righteous. The wicked are always condemned by Justice and the righteous are justified by it. It doesn't confuse these two and it doesn't compromise in either direction. It knows what is right and demands it with integrity that is faithful. By defining what is right and wrong, the book of Proverbs teaches justice.

What is judgement reader? Well judgement is closely connected to justice actually. Ever heard the term, "He has good judgement"? This means that person has the ability to identify an error and choose right accordingly. Judgement isn't altered by appearances or fear or any other distractions for that matter. If you want to be a wise man then you will judge rightly after cutting to the essential issue of a certain matter.

What is equity reader? It is when you think and act fairly, evenhanded and equal. A man who has equity is not moved by his emotions and does not compromise. He doesn't distort the truth in any way. When distributing rewards and even punishment he is fair. As tough as he would be on his own enemies he would be on his family.

Wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity are great and wonderful things to have, and they are taught to you in this book of Proverbs. If you are noble reader you will crave them with the greatest desire! Receive them and thank The Living God for your blessed opportunity!
