True friendship is a crucial task we undertake in our lives. Being a source of happiness, it is a necessary aspect of living. Our friendship with others in the society will give us the sense of security and belonging, besides the feeling of strength and vitality. Moreover it gives us the opportunity to satisfy our wish to love and help others, and in turn to have our love and services reciprocated by them in the equal measures.
Friendship is therefore a two way process. Besides linking us with the rest of the society, it serves as a conduit through which others may influence us.
Our tendency to make friends, like our education, starts very early in life, usually extends right till the end if it. Though our friends keep on changing with age and circumstances.
If in childhood we look for companion in the play, in adult life we prefer those who share our interests and ideas, and willing to support us in and aspect of life.
However, friendship may not be healthy and beneficial. A wrong choice in early life may push a person into the life of evil and vice. Just as the case of our success may be traced to inspiring friendships, so our drawbacks will point to earn undesirable ones.
Evil friendship which is aimed at personal gains, usually does nit last long, the effect it may have on the society is often terrible.
Friendship in order to provide all around benefit should be based on trust and sincerity. It should not be fostered with the intention of cheating or exploiting others. Friendship is indicated by the help one gives his or her friend during their difficult time as the saying goes" A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED." and as the Bible suggests " A GOOD FRIEND COMES FROM GOD." Make a good choice of friends but not pretritious.
