Mrs. @handofzara, enjoys a good daycation. She has set in her heart a desire to go kayaking and hiking on a regular basis. Fortunately, we are blessed to live in North Carolina which provides ample opportunity to explore from the Mountains to the Coast.
Last month we rented kayaks at a High Point Lake.
Off she goes, not even thinking about waiting for me. We are relatively new to kayaking and renting is for us a way better choice. Personally, I would much rather rent then have to haul the kayaks on the top of our van.
Amazing what you can find on the side of the lake.
Wild roses!
Mrs. @handofzara off in the distance not really excited about me pulling off to the side to get photos, she wants to go!
Can you see the snapper turtle sunning himself?
We also got to see this magnificent fellow.
An absolutely wonderful day under a Carolina Blue Sky.
Exploring one of the many coves along the Lake.
A few more photos of the things we saw that day.
Added bonus, at the entrance of the Park is this great old building and across the street is an antebellum Plantation home.
Built in 1824
Mendenhall Plantation
So whether it is in the Mountains
Or on the Coast
Or somewhere in between
take a daycation, explore and share.
We are kayaking this weekend on a different lake, time to explore!
Have a great weekend!
Wonderful places! I recognize some of the photos from past articles. It is not important as they are beautiful!
