Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

I attended the first Holy Communion for two of our Grandchildren recently, and I had my camera with me and got a few shots.

I guess it should be no surprise I had my camera with me I generally always do LOL

this is my third post of shots in the church

the Ceiling of the church was very beautiful and ornate, so I had to share another shot of it.

the other Grandparents asked me to get some shots of this statue, I think they said it has some special significance to the Portuguese, but only now do I realize I didn't ask the significance of it, but it surely was so beautiful.

And a second shot of this beautiful statue, a bit closer in so you can see the beautiful detail on it.

Even though I do consider myself religious and believe in a higher being, and was brought up a Catholic, I do not feel the need personally to go to a church once a week, I believe to many make an act of being pious and Christian on Sundays and do not live that out for the rest of the week.

I prefer to try and live a good life , show respect to others and say my prayers in my own way at my own time.

However that all said it was a wonderful experience visiting this beautiful church and seeing two of our grand kids so excited and enjoying their First Holy Communion

That ceiling is amazing. I don't know why they make the insides of churches so interesting, I never listen when I'm in them because I'm too busy looking around.

LOL I am the same to busy looking around in awe of the beauty

Ceiling shot came out good, being indoors and far from the camera. The lighting must have helped.

Isnt it amazing

and that Banner I believe is a Catholic Easter Banner but I could be wrong

Nice shots, I especially like the first one - it gives a sense of space and the light is nice, the people came out well.
