My Steem Journey - Update 05

Hi everyone, it's time for another update on my STEEMJOURNEY and in this update I will talk about my win in one of the popular contests here in Steem, my UPFUNDME investment, the development in DLike, update of the contests I hold every week, and the change in the day of updating this STEEMJOURNEY series.

Last week, I was browsing the trending topics in my feed when I saw that UPFUNDME is currently offering limited investment slots before they roll out the tribe online. The term "Whale Package" caught my attention. Who does not want to be a whale, even if it is for another tribe? So I grab the opportunity and bought 5,000 UFM tokens for 100 STEEM. They launched their UPFUNDME two days after and I started upvoting worthy posts. Currently, my 100% voting power for those 5,000 staked UFM tokens is worth 38.xxxx UFM tokens.Let's see how this goes in the coming weeks.

Also last week, my photo was chosen as the winner for the 7 World's Continents Photo Challenge organized by @czechglobalhosts. That photo is the one I used as a cover for this post. It is a photo of Putaruru Blue Springs located in the rural town of Putaruru in New Zealand. The mirroring clear waters of this spring lets you see what's underneath it.

It is really a good contest which showcases different places across the world. Each day of the week has a particular continent/place which the contest entries should show. New Zealand is included in Australia which is scheduled on a Monday, so expect that I will be putting another photo in the contest today. I haven't really won any prize at the moment, as I needed to compete with other winners. If I am chosen to be the winner for the whole month, that's when I will be able to collect the prize pot of 200SBD. Even without any prize at all, I am very happy that my photo was chosen to win the daily contest - that somebody noticed the work of the not-so-photographer in me.

Two days ago, DLike posted a huge announcement regarding their platform. Probably the most interesting in it is that non-Steem users can now register to Steem through Dlike and all they need is a mobile number for confirmation, and the account will be activated instantly, compared to signing up through Steem which will take 1-2 weeks to wait for approval. Other improvements include the launching of their referral system where you can be rewarded with Dlike tokens based from the earnings of your referrals, its option of staking those tokens to earn more tokens, their partnership with SPORTSTALK which I believe is another opportunity to earn more tokens, and their future plan of introducing a reward pool which will reward users for their activities within the platform (e.g. posting, liking, commenting, etc.)

For those who do not know, I am currently running a weekly lotto contest with two different prizes - one has SBI units as prize and the other one has SteemMonsters cards as prize. Both of them based the winning numbers from the result of the New Zealand lotto draw held on Wednesdays. I had no winners for both contests last week so if you want to take your chance, head on to my latest lotto posts and pick your numbers. Remember, I will keep on rolling over the prizes every week if there's no winner in the previous draw so the prizes keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Still on my contests, it is with great sadness that I will put a temporary halt on my SteemMonsters lotto. The Steem Monsters cards that I give as prizes come from my winnings and cards that I earn from my daily quests and season rewards. However, due to my work load, I found little time to play at the moment which affect my ability to earn enough cards to give as prizes. The stop will just be temporary and I hope that I can resume the soonest. As for the SBI lotto, it will run as per normal (which at the moment is on a weekly schedule).

So how does this affect the on-going SteemMonsters lotto contest? In the contest that is currently running, I am giving 15 Steem Monsters cards as prize. The stop will take effect on Wednesday after the draw regardless if any of the user got the winning number. If no one wins on Wednesday, I will pick a random winner on Thursday from those who submitted an entry.

Last item in this post is the re-scheduling of my updates. As you know, I post an update to this series every Monday. To spread my posts a little more evenly, I decide to do this update (Should I decide to post one in a week) on a Sunday instead. It's just because I usually have too much posts on Mondays - Actifit, DLike, Colorchallenge, STEEMJOURNEY, and recently, my intention to join the 7 World's Continents Photo Challenge every week, as New Zealand is scheduled on a Monday.
