Awesome times ahead! I've finished developing the SteemWorld Web API and Desktop Notifications and I'm now in the phase of testing and optimizing it so that it will hopefully be ready to use in the coming week. Tomorrow I will register a new server that is only being used for running a steem node and parsing new blocks every minute.
The server costs are ~ 90$/month (very fast machine) and I hope that I can pay it with my rewards here on Steemit. In my local tests the requests were executed really fast (~ 1-10ms) by using SQLite (on SSD).
This post is meant to be for testing purposes in the coming days and to give you a small preview of what is about to come soon...

Thanks! Most of the data comes directly from the steem nodes via the 'Steem JS API'. When my server is ready I will change some requests to work with my own webservice so that the other nodes are no longer being required and I'm not so much dependent on external data sources.

Another question, does that mean you are trying to set up a steem full node and create a webservice based on that? Based on my experience, a full node need at least 200GB memory.
Wonder how you can implement that. I also have a similar requirement for that, still don't have a good way to achieve that.

A full node requires way too much RAM in my eyes. I'm building an own solution with PHP and SQLite on SSD. Important to know is that you can't use all the API functions with a simple node but it is still possible to receive blocks.
I'm going through all these blocks and put the relevant data in indexed form into my own SQLite DBs. From there it is available for super fast access by the requests from the clients. It has been a lot of work in the past weeks for me but it works really fast and enables me to do much more than the default node APIs provides to us.
Edit:
An example of what I can show only by parsing the whole chain is the real post count. The field 'post count' on SteemWorld will display the real number of posts and comments (separated). That's even not being shown on Steemit because it is not possible with a full node.

Thanks! Yeah I've received the notification ;) I want to make the API public as soon as I can make a living with my rewards on Steemit. It would be best to put it on an own server so that the performance on SteemWorld is not being influenced by external tools. Another way could be to make the server scripts open source so that other devs can easily start their own webservice with it.

Man wird erneut informiert, wenn ein Post, in dem man erwähnt wurde, geändert wird und ich war mir nicht ganz sicher, ob das wirklich sinnvoll ist. Inzwischen bin ich der Meinung, dass es weiterhin so sein sollte, weil man ja evtl. auf dem Laufenden bleiben möchte, was die einen erwähnenden Posts betrifft. Vielleicht kann ich dafür später mal eine Option in den Einstellungen hinzufügen.

I love Steemworld! I got hacked last week and it saved me ( and all of the people we told about it who also got hacked )a TON of headache when we went back and edited the comments that our hacked account had spammed. Not only the fact that you could go along in a well organized order, but it allowed us to go directly to the comment, without viewing the full context of the post, and that was the only way the edits were loading and saving. Plus all of the other features. I have been using it for a little while, but just noticed your name as the dev and came to find you to thank you. As long as you are using a modern browser with HTML5 Notifications support, it should work ;) I'm on Linux Mint and the messages show up in my bar without any problems. Tested with Firefox, Opera and Chrome.

Ich muss dir leider hier schreiben, weil es sonst keine andere Möglichkeit gibt, dir das mitzuteilen. Du hast eben einen "Beitrag" von Bernie Sanders resteemed. Abgesehen davon, dass ich normalerweise jeden anderen der das tut instant entfolge, wollte ich dir nur zu bedenken geben, dass du damit auch unterstützt, dass jemand wie BS 500$+ für eine 3 Zeilen Schimpftriade bekommt.
Ja, es kann durchaus sein, dass du dmania auch nicht magst und das ist dein gutes Recht, aber jemanden zu unterstützen, der außer Hass, Zwietracht und Zensur absolut gar nichts für die Blockchain beiträgt, halte ich für suboptimal.
Das ist nicht nur eine Frage des Stils.
Wollte dir nur kurz dieses Feedback geben und sorry nochmal, dass es leider im Moment keine andere Möglichkeit gibt, um solche "persönlichen" Sachen mitzuteilen.

Chill out :) Bernie hat mich und meine Projekte schon oft mit starken Votes unterstützt und das ist eine Sache, die viele Leute leider noch nicht wissen. Er möchte mir auch bald eine Spende zukommen lassen. Als Millionär ist man nicht auf einen 500$ Post angewiesen und er bezahlt ja schließlich auch die Bots für diese starken Votes. Es geht ihm dabei mehr um die Sichtbarkeit, weil er die Aufmerksamkeit der anderen Wale bekommen möchte.
Mich würde mal interessieren, wie viel insgesamt von DMania, Utopia und einigen anderen pro Tag für wertlose Dinge gevotet wird. Die Summe wird enorm sein, da bin ich mir ziemlich sicher. Vielleicht werde ich dafür mal etwas entwickeln, damit man einen besseren Überblick über diese Beträge hat. Aber die Vote-Bots an sich sehe ich inzwischen auch mehr als problematisch für Steem, nicht weil es sie gibt, sondern, weil es keine oder zu hohe Limits für die Votes gibt. Ich denke, ein 30$ Vote oder so sollte das Maximum sein. Dann hätten wir auch einen deutlich gefüllteren Rewardpool.
Trotzdem verstehe ich was du meinst und ich habe mich früher auch mal eine Weile darüber aufgeregt. Inzwischen bin ich der Meinung, dass Bernie tatsächlich viele Sachen aufdeckt/bekämpft, die uns allen schaden, ohne dass wir es merken. Ich hoffe auch, dass sich die großen Wale mal mit Bernie zusammensetzen werden, um eine bessere Lösung dafür zu finden. Vermutlich ist es nie gut, wenn ein Wal einfach nur blind seine Power an andere Accounts delegiert und das Resultat nicht weiter beobachtet.

Das mit den Bots sehe ich ganz ähnlich, weil ich mich schon des öfteren über enorme Bids von anderen in letzter Minute geärgert habe, die alle anderen Bidder in der Runde quasi ausgestochen haben. (Insbesondere aber auch von Sanders, der eines seiner Flame-Posts mit 150 SBD upgevotet hat!)
Was Sanders anbelangt, seh ich das aber anders. Unabhängig davon, ob er Millionär ist und 500$ für ihn nix, ist das was er betreibt "reverse-reward pool rape". Beiträge mit 1-3 Zeilen, die zu 90% aus Schimpfworten bestehen, haben für mich keine Qualität. Ned und andere zu beschimpfen, ist für mich auch kein "Aufdecken". Es kann schon sein, dass er dich (und andere) mal unterstützt hat, aber primär ist das was er tut primitivstes Niveau und er mit seinen zig Fake-Accounts und Bots macht genau das, was er anprangert. Kein einziges seiner "Beiträge" wäre auch nur 1 cent wert und eigentlich würde ich sofort jedes flaggen, wenn ich dann nicht als Rache selbst in Grund und Boden geflaggt werden würde.
Ich musste sogar letztens ein Kommentar an eines seiner Opfer auf Deutsch und als Bild posten (damit es nicht in den Translator eingegeben werden kann), weil zuvor ein normaler kritischer Kommentar über ihn zu 10 downvotes seiner fake-accounts und bots geführt hat.
Das ist Zensur in Reinkultur, wenn keine andere Meinung zugelassen wird.
Würde ich diesen Kommentar hier auf Englisch veröffentlichen und er Wind davon bekommen, dann hätte ich in Sekunden zig downvotes.
Ich bin schon gechillt, aber das ist einfach ein Ausnutzen von Macht, das dem eigentlichen Selbstverständnis von Blockchains entgegen spricht.
Für mich ist das ein Dieb, der sich als Robin Hood ausgibt und in Wirklichkeit durch die Hintertür noch viel mehr Schaden anrichtet...

php, html, javascript, jquery, css. Viele Daten lade ich über die SteemJS API, aber da ich jetzt meinen eigenen Server mit Steem-Node und eigener DB aufbaue, werde ich bald bessere Möglichkeiten haben. Ich will nicht mehr so viel von den vorhandenen 'public nodes ' abhängig sein, da diese schon jetzt zu manchen Tageszeiten deutlich überlastet sind.
Wir haben nur eine Handvoll 'nodes' zur Verfügung und die meisten Entwickler nutzen diese für ihre Tools. Das kann natürlich auf Dauer nicht funktionieren und wird bald Geschwindigkeitsprobleme mit sich bringen. Ich würde jedem Entwickler (der in der Lage dazu ist) empfehlen, eine eigene Lösung aufzubauen.

Danke für diese ausführliche Antwort. Habe mich bisher mit der python API herumgeschlagen aber finde diese nicht wirklich performant oder zuverlässig. Werde es mal mit der js API probieren. Habe bisher auch mehr Erfahrungen mit js als mit python, daher kommt mir das ganz gelegen!

Hi @acostaeladio, I could not find anything regarding to your not returning delegations. There is no account operation being created when the SP returns, so all what I can see is the following:
Outgoing Delegations
Incoming Delegations
The process for returning the SP is being executed by the Steem nodes and SteemWorld does not have any influence on that. Maybe you should contact a top witness in chat or so.
