If it is interest from within China having this impact, then I wonder if it is avoidance of the Chinese blockchain regulations (coming into force on Feb 15) that are a factor. I also wonder if a significant Chinese userbase would lead to steem dapps being caught up in the enforcement of these regulations.

      Well, they will be coming into force soon enough, so I guess we will see.
