At our last trip to Bali to the island Nusa Penida [Broken beach] we had an impressing and sad moment at the same time. We were touched by seeing how gracefully the mantas were moving through the ocean and we were shocked by witnessing in how much trash they were swimming. Realising what happened to nature made us think a lot, especially of how helpless animals are in their situation as they are taking the true costs. Bali, unfortunately, is an example of tourism gone wrong.
One tiny step each of one can do is to keep examples like this in mind and avoid plastic wherever and whenever we can.

This is the sad truth behind Nusa Penida and the plastic problem generally seen around Indonesia 😔 Im glad you exposed this and I hope we can make a better change for the future of these wonderful creatures

I have been to Nusa Penida as well and I can confirm this sad truth. It would be a paradise if it wasn´t for all this plasitc trash in the ocean. It was so sad to see those mysitcal creatures floating in the trash we (humans) produce.
