Stefan Molyneux - the cycle of philosophers

in stefanmolyneux •  8 years ago

Stefan Molyneux got into Ayn Rand by recommendation from a friends band member. An unknown thirst being awakened, a drip of philosophy beginning the bloom of a flower. Discovering that Rand wasn't as she portrayed herself, marriage, religious partner, partner on looks etc. A tough discovery like waking up in your bed placed in the middle desert. How could you have betrayed yourself, you were so certain about something...

Stefan correctly remarked that a lot philosophers has a tendency to betray their principles. Whatever it be ancient Greeks on slavery, scientists on religion, or libertarians legitimizing the state; pointing out "natural rights" and how government abuses them, and later still finding legitimacy for these institutions.

Recent events - Trump & the media
Many have mistaken Stefan pointing out how the mainstream media lies about Trump; to him supporting him.
Stefan has gained a lot of attraction from trump supporters, there seems to be a growing group on the internet against social justice, we've all seen sjw commentators and other channels ridiculing feminists/blm popping up and growing over the last year, Stefan gaining traction from this wave.
This has led to increased viewership and more interviews with other online media commentators.

Principles and deception
Let's remind ourselves what's Stefan Molyneux has talked about.
(I had the exact clip and time, but my post got deleted without warning, more on that later)
He felt pity for those who weren't willing to have an uncomfortable conversation. He has referred to this whilst speaking of Christmas dinners, election years and conversations with the family and friends.

But having listened to his conversation with Mike, Paul J. Watson and others, I've noted that topics democracy and "free democratic society" - which is a logical contradiction, their being no sign of having noticed a error in logic.
Example 4:35 -Only fascists protests a democratic votes:
His own Principles, uncomfortable

4:35 -Only fascists protests a democratic votes.

Someone who protests a democratic vote is a fascist. - Has Stefan ever done that?
Seems unclear whatever or not he refers to the fascists as scum or the protesters. Curios if the opening sentence still contains good friend, next time. Doesn't seem to me like he was willing to make the conversation a tad uncomfortable, or at least correct the error in good faith that it was mistake despite the increase in volume from Watson.

freedomainradio.com - Experience with the boards
I was excited to here feedback to my post. A post which I deliberately posted as an argument with a conclusion and premises. Posting in the form of an argument and a short introduction about my sympathies and understanding of the current events with the media and trump... Did get rejected, no message as to why. I pondered the next few weeks if someone who didn't want to hear me out is someone I wanted to a conversation with.

Suggestions
In a interview about the FDA with Mary Ruwart, Stefan speaks openly about the topic, and in the conversation brings up how it would work in a free society - understanding the indoctrination suffered about the legislation and the role of government. I hope this format will be continued. As for media commentators, Stefan HAS to stand up and correct these errors, if he want's to not be dragged down to the spinning black-hole called not learning from prior mistakes.

I pity those who are not willing to make the conversations uncomfortable, applying this preference would require me to pity myself
