Mozilla Chief Operating Officer Denelle Dixon has joined the Stellar Development Foundation as CEO of the nonprofit organization. She will succeed the position formerly owned by Stellar's chief architect Jed McCaleb. She will have the official title of the said organization as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, starting May 01. To me this is a very good news for Stellar and the industry as a whole, especially that it is mentioned that Jed McCaleb, Stellar Co-Founder will now focus on its protocol growth and adoption strategies.
This is a welcome change because both of these people are well capable of their newly assigned roles. For Denelle Dixon, she spearheaded Mozilla's fight for Net Neutrality and the worldwide massive effort to make sure that people can control their personal data. She also moved Mozilla to understand how to partner with commercial entities while staying true to its core mission of openness, innovation, and opportunity on the web.
Jed said:“We’re thrilled to have Denelle lead the Stellar Development Foundation through its next phase of growth. Denelle’s long experience leading operations and business at Mozilla, as well as her work on the policy side, with advocacy around Open Internet and encryption and privacy, will be indispensable to SDF in the coming years.”
And according to Dixon:

And — perhaps most relevant to my future at SDF — I pushed Mozilla to understand how to partner with commercial entities without neglecting its core mission. While Jed McCaleb is well known to the crypto industry as creator of both XRP and Stellar. Both successful cryptocurrencies on their own right. He is one of the brightest minds in the arena with the right network to move the industry into its successful direction. Letting him focus on the global adoption of the platform is a giant leap to the success of this industry.
