Hello friends, hope you all are good.

One way or the other you must have heard it somewhere or somehow that the reverse of a refrigeration system is equal to heat engine, taking for example the air conditioning we use in our homes or offices, at the outer chamber of it there is heat and the inner part of it is giving a comfortable temperature depending on how you want it or the kitchen refrigerator that we used to get cold water and the heat extracted from the item been refrigerated is given off outside the fridge. So that is where the question is coming from Is the Reverse of a Refrigeration System Equal to a Microwave?.

Before I start to write anything about this, lets reason it logically. A microwave needs some amount of temperature to perform it task, meaning if the refrigeration system is been reverse there are still adjustments to be done to achieve that aim not to talk of an oven or do you think an oven and a microwave have same principles? Well yes they are the same. From what I read on Google below..

"Microwave" is just short for "microwave oven". Both terms mean the same thing: an appliance that uses microwave radiation to heat food.¦source

So that is settled, in the sense that they are the same. Now let see the working of a microwave.

Introduction

A Little Background of the Microwave

Microwaves are actually a segment of the electromagnetic wave spectrum, which comprises forms of energy that move through space, generated by the interaction of electric and magnetic fields.¦source

In the case of a refrigerator there is a refrigerator needed for and some other processes like the way a four stroke engine works, from suction down to the stage of giving out the waste like the exhaust in the car engine and then the process repeats itself. Now the microwave, compared to the olden days method of heating food in the kitchen where they put woods together and light a match to produce fire or the slow modern method lol stove.

All these methods I named are very slow but the microwave is very fast and because it gets heat energy directly into the molecules (tiny particles if the food). I read somewhere that microwave heat your food like the sun heat your face. lol

There is no much difference between a electromagnetic waves that connects through the air from radio transmitters and a microwave. Explained below

Just like an invisible to and fro electrical and magnetism pattern that moves in air at speed of light.
While
Radio waves are very long which can be miles between one wave crest and another wave crest, it is possible that it can be infinitesimal as well

NOTE: Microwaves that does the cooking of the food in the box are just 12 cm long.

Not minding the small size, microwave has the ability to damage living cells and tissues meaning it is harmful to humanity and another reason why the body is a very strong metal made of galvanized or stainless steel and are been coated for acrylic enamel. The use of this strong metal is to make sure the waves not escape to the atmosphere and exposed to humans. Even if it is safe, do not mess around with it.

Other applications of microwaves are telecom products, wood curing and drying, radar detectors and medical treatment of certain diseases.

How does the microwave works

The main device that does this magic that happens in the microwave is the Megatron.

The magnetron is a high-powered vacuum tube that works as self-excited microwave oscillator. Crossed electron and magnetic fields are used in the magnetron to produce the high-power output required in radar equipment.¦source

The main purpose of the magnetron is to generate the high-voltage microwave energy for the cooking of the food. Magnetron is made up of copper tube a copper rod running through the middle of the device, also it have a vacuum between both and then a high voltage is been applied to the two conductors which allow electrons to move through the vacuum from the rod to the tube but they move on a straight line and also the tube is held in a magnetic field and this applied a force to the electrons which make them spin outward.

Microwave heats the food with the help of microwave with one type of electromagnetic radiation like x-rays, radio waves etc. Why would microwave make something to heat up? Wave of such frequency are very absorbed by fat, water and sugar which are the main components of food. The moment the molecules absorbed microwave, they all get excited which makes them heat up and it happens to all the molecules at ones that is why heating with a microwave is faster. If you are following you would see where I wrote that the microwave heat our food the way the sun heat out face just imagine there was no ozone layer to protect us and we are comparing the heating of a microwave and the sun heating our face very dangerous

The steps

  • The microwave has the magnetron so when you put on the microwave to cook, it converts electrical power to high powered radio waves and the magnetron blasts the waves into the cooling chamber.

  • The microwaves moves evenly round the microwave box.

When the microwaves reach the food itself, they don't simply bounce off. Just as radio waves can pass straight through the walls of your house, so microwaves penetrate inside the food. As they travel through it, they make the molecules inside it vibrate more quickly.¦source

  • Finally the food molecules vibrates because of the heat and the faster the food molecules vibrates, the hotter the food.

Conclusion

Well I see the question is now answered, the reverse of a refrigeration system is not a microwave oven even if logically it feels so. And the know the device incharge if the heating and cooling on-like the refrigeration system that uses a compressor, refrigerant and a full carrot cycle process but the microwaves pass their energy from the magnetron to the food molecules in the food that brings the fast heating it up.
