Over the past days i was spinning my head around a new idea i got in mind weeks before

Luckily other community members had same ideas and so we created a small task force on that topic.

Main idea is to start building a decentralized hub for educational stuff around STEEM, ELi5 (E xplain L ike i 'm 5)

  • Articles
  • Explanations
  • Infographics
  • Beginner Guides

…everything u will want to know about STEEM from "newbie" to "expert"!

We will work more out over the upcoming weeks
& getting more in detail about STEEM.EP

Stay tuned – more will follow soon!

Initial idea from @hisnameisolllie

@hisnameisolllie will continue on this with some more detailed explanation when he is back from business travel - just to introduce here a cite from our most recent chat about

Steem Power is essentially a fund of Steem. Each Steem Power Represents a Steem in the Fund. Vests are shares in the fund. Your Shares in the fund (Vests) don't change with Dilution. However the amount of Steem Power/Steem do change (increase) with the Rewards you receive.

first concepts

My idea is to provide info-graphics on any steem related topic with help of community members, team-mates, everybody who want to help! I'm starting with olllie's idea.

(i tried to get some feedback from @ned @dan and some other steem officials to get feedback on these infographics - mostly without luck but i can't wait anymore - well here you go :) )

Feedback much appreciated

These infographics aren't official "Steemit Inc." ones - they are based on my understanding of the system with helping hands fro m other community members @hisnameisolllie (A big thanks to the initiator of this graphic) and @jesta as he'll provide useful data from his site steemstats.com for creating next graphics).

I'm in the process of compiling a FAQ for @ned. It's a big project, but I should have a decent draft by the end of the weekend. It includes Q&A as well as links to quality Steemit posts. Maybe we should get in contact with each other because a lot of the information will overlap?

how to connect ? let me know - let's alliance :)

We are currently also making a steemwiki, maybe its best to connect?

I'm on Steemit Chat, search for shenanigator. We can exchange contact info over there!

Good to know. I see you on asksteem a lot :)

I am charmed with the idea, as advice I will say that at the moment of explaining you should use a vocabulary easy to deal and not to use technical expressions, This way any type of persons will be able to follow the explanations , For the rest .. a lot of luck!

Yup, u are completely right on this! I'd need help from the community on this topic, feel invited to join! :)

If there is something that it could do to help I'd be happy, though my technical knowledge is very scanty :P
I will follow your post to collaborate in what could. A greeting!

@cass I'm sure there are plenty of wordsmiths on here, but I'll offer my help with the language translation. Actually part of my current "real" job is translation between tech dev and customers.

Maybe you can create an email or something as a way to contact you ?

Love how you can take a basic idea and turn it into something beautiful.
Nice work i feel smarter already :)

good start, but for ELi5 it will need more clarity. more definition, less tech

As a newbie myself, I have a special request. Can you please use a very large font and extremely simple explanations? We may not understand unless you use very short sentences. Oh, and can you say it a couple of times? We probably won't get it until a couple of days later, anyway.
Thanks

Thanks for you input and yep u're right with all you said - ( just tried to get more info into ) but at then end some animated explainers "step-by-step" would make sense - i'm also still learning - will take your ideas into consideration and still have to play and find a good consistence way of presenting it - it's indeed not easy especially not to design -- i'm still have the tendency to overload .. have to optimize this !

I like the idea @judy100 has. As a newbie if we can change the fonts. What if we always have color codes to who the newbies are and different color code for the whales and others so we can tell who came swimming by and create an excitement at times during the cast voting period. We can also have font sizes for all stages. Might create attraction.

I agree. Good imput Judy.

@cass Great idea(s)! I have an idea that I call SteemLand. With it I would like to assist providing education to steemit users. Part of my contribution would be providing land a 3D virtual world that interested users could visit and have another way to learn outside of 2D internet means. For example maybe a layout of a few panels might better explain some things to some as they would be able to look at different pictures back and forth more easily as opposed to scrolling up and down a web page for example. Keep all the great work everyone and Happy Steem-ing! :)

@cass -- one comment I'll make is that the infographics look and feel pretty 'busy' to me. With the complexity layers of Steem and Steemit, it may be worth breaking up things into as many components as is feasible, and combining them all somehow.

Maybe like the hub / spoke system of a wheel?

Here is a post that i made a couple of weeks about education. Would love to see your feedback @cass

I too share your vision.

Good work @cass seems a project that can be accomplished well. I am not a big writer but I can definitely help support the team by chanting some good words and letting other know to follow on your work and support as well. I am excited to know the outcome of the assignment you guys are working out. Goodluck and let's keep the Steem Spirit Alive!

Awesome! Thanks. Keep em' coming!

always good to have these informative posts to help understand everything that we need before using steemit great post op! +1

This is a great idea @cass & team and it's much needed. I've seen so many posts the past days with misinformation and questions that go unanswered.
A hub with educational information is something that would answer all these questions that most newbies, like me ask our self.

Great chart, I will be using it for education at Steem Quebec info-session which in held everyweek at BlockChainCoop Co-working Space here in Montreal. Thks@cass

Very nice stuff as usual @cass. I did a similar graph a week ago.

Hello @cass!

Thank you for writing this article. As a person who is new to Steem and knows little to nothing about Bitcoin, this post was very helpful and I'm looking forward to continue learning.

I also wrote a post about helping the Steem community. But, rather than educate, mine is about growing the Steem community. Because it hasn't reached the attention of anyone, like the majority of my few posts, I am telling you this now. (If my idea is a good one) I'd like to see what the community thinks about my idea and I'd first love for people like you, who clearly have a good knowledge of Steem, to read it and tell me what you think. Thank you for reading this! My article is here:

This is what I like with steemit, lots of great people are providing great ideas to improve the platform. Me as an ordinary person, I wish I could help but my knowledge is limited. The thing that I can do is to try my best to post good content, although I'm not a writer but I'm willing to learn.

It's awesome, guys! Looking forward to use it and share it with my friends! Thank you, @cass! :)

Great idea @cass, this will be helpful for new members who may feel confused about how the platform works.

Cass, I really love your idea!!

I have little time recorded in Steemit . Meanwhile I've been trying to learn the basics. You're right when you assume that the information should be clearer for new users.
I am not an expert on Steemit but if I am an expert to write in Spanish
and Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. I think that Spanish speakers will soon create a real community here.
I can translate the contents that you think if you and your team are agree.

I 'm sure we can reach agreement on the steem generated . Making money is not my priority.

How can we talk? It's okay if I give you my email ?

Gracias Por compartir este material, me gusta lo que has publicado, Si deseas podes visitar mi blogg. Gracias

this is just a amazing idea, very good work indeed, keep it up, and thanks :)

EDUCATION above all,i created a STEEM educatiing site for GREEKS.
i think you gonna like it.great work BTW https://steemit.com/steemit/@steembeast/steemit-gr-just-launched-steemit-com-s-little-brother

This would be very helpful indeed, i am forever wondering how steemit works

fantastic...as new to this I can see there is much waiting for me to learn! Has anyone given though to the different segments of users (from the engaged community member to the eventual non engaged user who just wants to buy a cup of coffee).

Class,

I've created a few tutorials about Steem. Check it out. https://steemit.com/steem/@pairmike/learning-steemit-is-easy-as-1-2-3
