One of the brightest minds in history has left this world at the age of 76. Stephen Hawking, the admirable British physicist famous for his research on the origin of the universe, died peacefully at his home in Cambridge, according to a recent statement published by his relatives.
To pay a small tribute to this genius who made so many contributions to science, we leave you with the following video when Stephen Hawking was presented together with Anathema to interpret the classic "Keep Talking" by Pink Floyd. This happened on July 1, 2016 at the Tenerife Starmus festival, an event that also paid homage to the British physicist.
"Keep Talking" follows from the 1994 Pink Floyd album, "The Division Bell." It includes
a Stephen Hawking recording of a BT television commercial (this same commercial would be seen again in "Talkin 'Hawkin" from Pink Floyd's latest studio album, "The Endless River"). The song also has use of the guitar talk box effect.
When Stephen Hawking was just 21 years old, he was diagnosed with a disease whose prognosis is very severe: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. In
that then the doctors predicted that he would not live more than 2 or 3
years, but the physicist surprised everyone by living for more
50 years old with a condition that is usually lethal.
