I was supposed to graduate from college next Saturday. I failed a final exam for a required class Friday and the instructor refuses to help me in any way. I spoke with my advisor and the department head and they told me although I am one class away from graduating, I cannot participate in commencement. I have to retake the class online this Summer and can participate in commencement in December with the Fall 2018 class.
I am so depressed. I feel so stupid and embarrassed and like a disappointment to my family and friends.
I’ve already told my parents and friends and they keep saying it’s gonna be ok and that they are still proud of me for everything I’ve done so far but I feel depressed and can’t stop thinking about how stupid I am.
I have already moved to a new city and I’ve been interviewing for new jobs.
I have already sent out graduation announcements and my family and friends have planned a party for me.
How do I tell everyone that I won’t be graduating and that everything is cancelled? How do I tell jobs I won’t be receiving my degree?
