What is the best way to make money consistently in the stock market?

I have been spending a lot of time trying to understand the stock market, and it seems like the best way to make money would be just to buy at the bottom of a market crash. The following are two charts of the S&P 500 ETF starting from a market bottom:

In the two charts above, by buying on the first trading day of the year in 2003/2009 and holding it, the return on investment would be around 69% and 187% respectively.

Does anyone have a different opinion or any advice?
