The Best Of Stoico Wisdom [Part-1]

in stoico •  7 years ago

Stoicism is a philosophy set to teach people to set mind from worries about things we can't control.

It teaches to distantiate oneself from fear and anxiety by living life in the present moment.

Everyone can draw some good teaching from the Stoico, so let's head to the path of eternal wisdom.

Want little, don't meddle with other people's affairs, don't get busy about trifling things, do not breed quails for fighting and don't be ready to listen to slander.

Don't show off, do not make a display. Have a respect for those who offend you, ready to pacify or reconcile as soon as they have shown readiness to be reconciled; and read them carefully.

Be free from passion and anger. Don't do fault finding. Possess knowledge without ostentation.

Do not be indifferent when a friend finds fault, even if he should find fault without reason, but to try to restore him to his usual disposition.

Do good. Give others readily, cherish good hopes. Be cheerful in all circumstances. Be ready to forgive.

The Stoic philosophers are some of my favorites to read. Marcus Aurelius's 'Meditations' is an audiobook that repeatedly listen to.
