Testimony of a drug addict

For those who are thinking about trying a hard drug here is a testimony!

interviewer:
What is your name?

Paul:
My name is Paul, like desserts, driving a car, playing with my son, give gifts ... these are things that I like today, I'm happy to do them and work for them. What I do not like now tell you, is that I have the disease of addiction, I am HIV-positive and have hepatitis. I started using drugs and alcohol at 12, now I have 35 years.

interviewer:
What led you to the consumption of drugs?

Paul:
I think I started using drugs for fear of facing the difficulties that any teenager has to grow and the drug gave me confidence and courage in time to face life.

interviewer:
What was the first drug that you consumed?

Paul:
I started by glue, marijuana and then cocaine ... until today that name moves me. And then at 22, I was at the height of my problems with cocaine when my family sent me here thinking, perhaps, that here no "were drug" and that, by the way, since I had been sent to other destinations (Canada , USA, etc.) always ending the same way: problems and expelled from these countries. But here, in my country I discovered my "hero" and along with it met a reality that .never thought I arrived.

interviewer:
What did you do to support your addiction?

Paul:
Were robberies, mistreatment of family, sleeping in the street, park cars, clean car windows at traffic lights etc. If you think that I write this mouth out, this does not happen, the truth is that I also thought this only happened to others ... but not ... live for the next broth, without thinking about the means to achieve the ends .

interviewer:
You try to heal you?

Paul:
Various treatments in the middle, detoxification, promises and more promises and nothing. I no longer believed and began to believe that there was no escape.

Came a son, a companion (here I thought a child would be my salvation) and even a carrycot took my son to the use neighborhoods. Then came the other diseases: AIDS, hepatitis to give me more reason for me to be a poor thing. Only lacked even sell my mother and one day, my companion told me that or I quit or she was leaving with my son.

interviewer:
What did you do?

Paul:
To this day my counselor tells me when I went for treatment, no longer wanted to use drugs and alcohol, I just did not know how. And it was through an institution through the "human" team that works there (cooks, monitors, counselors, administrative staff) that I, in about four months, I learned that it was able to live in an honest and dignified way ... What am able to love and be loved ... and "today", will nearly two years I live, caressing diseases and 2nd diseases.
