Revenge is a dish that is eaten cold.
A beautiful woman, named Monika Ertl, with a sweet face like few others, starred in one of the most shocking revenges of modern times. He was German, of wealthy family, with great political power in Nazi Germany. His father was Hans Ertl, known as "The Hitler Photographer". When the Third Reich collapsed, many of its leaders fled to America, some to Bolivia, and there, they rededicated their lives hidden in other identities.
But Monika, the young German daughter of Nazis, intelligent and sensitive as few, was shaken by the political tsunami that swept through the consciousness of Latin America in the 60s, and enlisted as a combatant in the National Liberation Army of Bolivia, created by Che Guevara.
And the world knows the rest of the story. The guerrilla almost alone, climbing the inhuman heights of the Bolivian Andes with a dream that went away in each attack of asthma. Until he arrived that morning at la Higuera.
The CIA commandos and Bolivian officers launched themselves as vultures on his corpse. His watch, his pistol, and even a strand of his guerrilla beard were objects of rapine. And the desecration continued. Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Quintanilla boasted of cutting the guerrilla's hands to demonstrate, with fingerprints, the trophy they had conquered.
And Monika Ertl did not forgive him. In 1971 Quintanilla was awarded a diplomatic position in Germany and until his office a beautiful and elegant woman arrived one day, speaking English and German in a perfect way, to request information about a visa for Bolivia. The consul, flirtatious, was dazzled by that stunning woman. But she, in silence, recalled that whoever proposes an implacable goal, has to make the future as unchangeable as the past. Then Quintanilla paled and was speechless when she took a revolver out of her wallet, pointed it at him and said "This is in the name of Che", and she shot him the necessary shots.
Monika managed to escape consular security, and managed to travel another 11,000 kilometers back to La Paz.
The other part of the story is no less dramatic. Among the Nazis who had arrived in Bolivia was Klaus Barbie, known as "The Butcher of Lyon", and in the family of Mónika they called him "El Tío." He, Barbie, agent of the Bolivian fascist government, 2 years later he organized an ambush , and murdered Mónika, his beloved niece, and he avenged the vengeance of revenge...
Nor is there mercy in chess and although there is no room for so many tears, the law is also killing.
