Okay, so early morning discovery #257: Psion 5 Series computers appear to be able to handle 1GB Compact Flash cards... in about a month or two, I'll be able to discover if a CF to SD adaptor can be handled in one, along with 2x512MB micro SD cards, although it is getting to the point where that capacity is going to be trickier to find as time goes on, so I'll need to start testing larger capacities, or even single larger Micro SD cards instead. I at least know that PSPs can easily handle 2x16GB Micro SD cards using a Memory Stick converter for 32GB space, although I eventually need to test 1x32GB or 2x32GB with those converters!
Judging by a quick google, I think that with the Memory Stick to Micro SD converter should be able to handle 2x32GB, due to the fact that 32GB is the max specification for SDHC, before it kicks into SDHC. Likewise, I think that 2x1GB or 2x2GB should be fine for the Psion 5, although it accepts SDHC, so theoretically, 64GB (2x32GB) could be accepted there too, but I'm going to probably limit it to 4GB (2x2GB) for now, as I think that even 4GB is overkill for the Psion; the 2x512MB is really just me replicating a 1GB CF card, so I at least know that it can handle that size easily, as I don't know how larger storage would be handled.
Coincidentally, this also means that the Gizmondo will probably max out at a 2GB SD card, be it regular size or Micro via a converter, seeing as 2GB is the max size for standard SD, as after that it goes into SDHC, although 2GB SDHC cards are also available, so I need to make sure I don't fall into that trap!
