April 1st, 2013,
7:30am, I wake up to my sister yelling, with her son in her arms, who is only four months old at the time. She keeps repeating "GRANDMA IS DEAD, GRANDMA IS DEAD, GRANDMA IS DEAD" through out the house. As I wake up to this, I am putting clothes on, and thinking "Please let this be a prank, please don't let this be true" as I going to her room, I see her, on the floor, next to her bed. I am shocked, mortified to see my grandmother, who has been there since I was born, and technically raised me, to be dead.
I was standing in the kitchen while everyone crying, and mourning of her passing. All I can think of is how they just took advantage of her. I wasn't even crying at the time. Everyone deals with passing of a family member in their own way. I went down to my room. I just sat in my bed, still processing, my grandmother is gone.
Couple minutes pass by, and the tears start rolling out. I had tears going down my face, but I wasn't audible with the crying.
Four years ago I lost the person I loved the most.
Before anyone judges, my grandmother raised me better than my actual mother. My mother mooched off of my grandmother her whole life. As soon as my grandmother passed, the money stopped coming in for my mom, and she is living in a house with no electricity and no running water. My mom is a drug addicted, she did drugs before I was born, she remarkable held off until I left the house, and I just saw her a month ago, and most of her teeth are gone from all the meth she has been doing. also, she was a drug addicted before my grandmother passed.
