Hello users of Steemit,
Its been a little bit since I have done a blog, sorry I have been absent. With work, and pokemon go, been little bit busy. Anyways, what have I been up to? Well... In my town there has been some crime recently, man found dead in a lake at huge park where there happens to be a pokemon nest, and other small crimes. Which is odd, we never had crime like this for the three years I have been here. When pokemon go first came out, it was most popular thing to exist. Then few weeks after the release you would see on the news of people getting robbed due to pokemon go.
I decided to arm myself, for someone who is pro gun, buying a gun was not my first option. I was looking for something less lethal.. You would think, pepper spray? No, taser/stun gun? Nah.
Then what is it?!
Calm down I will tell you, so, there is a game called watch dogs 2, its a game about hacking, essentially. The protagonist, Marcus Holloway, he carries a melee weapon they call thunderball.
looks pretty cool, huh? Don't get me wrong I was ready to run to home depot, go buy a drill press, and other equipment I would need to make my own "Thunderball". In the picture you see above, it is a billiard ball with paracord attached to it.
I didn't have a lot money to do fabricate my own thunderball. I wanted something that is better to conceal, especially during summer time and all I would have on me is cargo shorts and a shirt.
So... I came up with this!
This is what you would call a Celtic slammer. Since I was on a budget, I went down to my local thrift store, and came across 3 pack of golf balls for 2 bucks, went to home depot bought "Everbilt" brand, 50FT paracord for 3 dollars (YMMV). I figured this should work, the golf balls are designed to get hit multiple times without breaking. I was originally looking for old pc mouse that used a ball since it usually had steel core under the rubber material.
Here is some other pictures
In the second picture the wall knots are meant to be loose, acts kind of like "rubber band" and also the rope was stiff when I put wall knots too close, and too tight to each other...
Maybe you're asking yourself, seems like that might pop out of the paracord lacing, I completely agree. Unfortunately, I didn't have a paracord fid, and didn't get a chance to do 6 pass throughs, I was only able to do 3-4 pass throughs before it got too tight for me. Anyways, thanks for reading, and below is the resources I used to make myself a celtic slammer.
