Forrest Gamp, or Ivan-Durak, American.2

So, I will return to the goal of my narration, about my favorite literary hero.

For me, this is Forrest Gump from the book of the same name by Winston Grum. At the very beginning of the story, his hero briefly described his life: 'I will say this: the life of an idiot is not sugar. People first laugh, then get irritated, and start to feel bad about you. They say that now they have to do it with good, so I will tell you directly - it is not always so. And I do not complain at all, my life is full of meaning, so to speak. '
And a couple of paragraphs later Forrest expressed a curious opinion: 'Yes, I know a lot about idiots. I guess I only know about them, because I've read all about them. Well, about this guy Dowstoweuski, about his idiot, about the jester King Lear, about the Folkner idiot, Benji, and even about old Boo Radley from 'Kill a mockingbird.' That was a serious guy. But most of all I like the old man Lenny from 'About people and mice'. These guys writers are good idiots understand, yes, you need to give them their due. In general, I agree with them. And any idiot will also agree, ha ha! '
I will explain why I liked Forrest Gump so much. As a child, I read a fairy tale about Ivanushka the fool: 'Father had three sons, two clever and the third a fool ...' It was Ivan the fool who received the Firebird, Vasilisa as a beautiful and 'half-kingdom in addition ...'

Fools first characterized and Khoja Nasreddin, and Aldar Kose, and Pushkin's Balda.
But these fools invariably survive and defeat their respectable and intelligent opponents.

Idiot Forrest Gump managed to survive and not cripple in the Vietnam War and save the lives of his colleagues. This idiot became an astronaut and a multimillionaire, influenced the most important political and economic events of his time.
Forrest Gump, therefore, is for me a favorite literary character, that he is a collective image of the American idiot of the second half of the 20th century. A modern analogue of ours with you is the usual Ivan the fool.

Fools are lucky, gentlemen ... Or are not we the people who are called idiots and fools?
