SERENDIPITY (1)

There he was, sitting outside his room on the balcony that was large enough to compensate for the pitiable size of his room.
With one chair placed against the wall, a stool to place his feet on, a pillow to rest his back on; this was his sacred place. Karho found deep relief sitting in that balcony. It became his happy place as it helped him reminisce and think with the view of vehicles moving in a disoriented pattern, the noise of engines purring like kittens and others roaring like a choir of wounded cows. It was for him, the perfect setting for meditation. As he would listen intensely to the noise as one paying attention to a whispered gossip, the noise gradually fades and to him, sounds like singing birds, and the moving people and vehicles appear as just mere animations.
As he was beginning to enjoy the tranquility his mind, a loud bang on his door disconnected him from his self induced trance.

"Who's there?!"

  • Open the door, ram!
It was Rivwo. His best friend.
She was always there to liven him up. Mistaking meditation for depression, it sometimes causes a misunderstanding.

As he opened the door she punched him in the gut and ran straight to the kitchen... Without consideration and pity for the poor boy, ate the last food he was saving for dinner.
He ushered her into the balcony as he grabbed another chair as they both sat. Just then she began to beat on his back as he tried to connect to his happy place. He tried to find joy in his happy place, but joy came knocking on the door. This was SERENDIPITY.
