Poetry doesn't need to rhyme. Spoken Word aside, publishers actually frown on it.Interesting juxtapositioning of words/lines is cool though. This is interesting. Sort of a stream of consciousness quasi concrete style.

A crushing crippling crush of chaos poetry - [Chaos Poetry Style]
No clue. Was born out of my college days when I came walking out of the laundry room and past two of my roommates who were talking to them in the kitchen and said "You can't go waiving semi-precious stones at me and expect me to respond." then wandered off to me room to go back to bed leaving them dumb founded. We all thought it was so hilarious we kind of turned a game out of it. @ChaosPoet was a byproduct of that.
I tend to use rhymes when responding to people in comments, because people immediately grasp the challenge of that and since I am coming up with my responses about as fast as I can think them up it can force me into some weird corners where occasionally very interesting things happen.
I have never really approached poetry in any formal structure. I definitely consider myself an amateur. Having a vivid imagination and fairly large vocabulary (always room for improvement) helps. Yet, I don't compare myself to a pro. I'm kind of like a street busker when it comes to poetry. :)
Here is one exchange I am particularly proud of how it worked out... grabbing screenshots.
It is in response to this post.
As you can see those comments I made did quite well. In fact none of my original blog posts do much with this @chaospoet account. It is my novelty account that I live vicariously through when the urge suits me.
Yet I've been pretty successful with comments. THIS is why I think you'll do great here.
We just need to get you using some images and formatting and going to town. Build up a following and what is slow could prove lucrative for you.
I've posted two guides in the past few days. The first was well received as I figure if I was making it for you I might as well make it for everyone.

Poetry doesn't have to have structure either....unless it's a sonnet or haiku, etc. most of mine is free verse. It's interesting to study and even play with form on occasion. Still getting my bearings here..thanks for all the advice.

You should feel free to go nuts here. If you have any deep thoughts, bizarre thoughts, etc. This community so far is a great sounding board. I pretty much feel okay with sharing any weird idea I come up with here. If you get your bearings and think any of the old forum people might like to write here, send them some information, share my guides. Whatever, the more the merrier. I think this site and the techs built off of the steem blockchain may have the power to change the world. We're getting in at near the ground floor. This also means we are here for the early warts and blemishes though as well.
I dropped out of politics after 2012 when you were involved as well. I pretty much just went into survival mode without much sign of hope that the world might change direction. This place is the first ray of hope I've seen.
