"For immediate release:"
Reknowned author and inventor, Duncan Cary Palmer, has today announced his intention to investigate new approaches to the widespread problem of sleep apnea.

"Breath is life itself,"
said the author in a telephone interview this evening.
"The word 'spirit' itself means 'breath.' Every breath we take sustains our spirit, our very life. We are at our most vulnerable during sleep. If we are prevented from breathing then, we are at great risk."
We asked Palmer what brought the problem of sleep apnea to his attention. He explained that he experienced a particularly acute episode during his traditional Sunday afternoon nap. Palmer woke up gasping, heart racing, and immediately began contemplating possible new solutions.
There are many products already on the market that address sleep apnea. Everything from blowers to mouthpieces to chin straps. When we asked Mr. Palmer about existing options, he was somewhat dismissive. He told us that is opposed to the presence of machinery, hoses, and masks at his bedside. Palmer has tried the mouthpiece approach, and found it to be impossibly uncomfortable.
"There must be a better way," Palmer insisted, "something to realign the airway. Maybe even a radically new sleeping arrangement, a new kind of bed."
At this time, Palmer has no schedule or financial backing for the project. He promised further reports as his research moves forward.

You are why I'm here on Steemit!
I have very eclectic interests and hope, over time, to write about them all.
It could even be said that this is keeping Mr. Palmer awake at night. He's losing sleep over it. Maybe he'll pull an all-niter. Search for the solution 'til his last gasp. Solving this would be a breath of fresh air. He'll need an inspiration.
That's all, I think. I wish him success in his endeavor. I don't think it will be a yawn.

Thanks for a nice chuckle, my friend. I'd enjoy a punning interaction with you across the dinner table, I think. ;)

The punning doesn't always happen. I really enjoy wordplay though, and as I read your post they all kept pouring into my head, so I thought I'd share. Not everyone likes pun's, I guess I got lucky. Thanks.

alter egos can be confusing - even the best writers are multiple persons and are constrained by whom the readers want them to be - it leads to all kinds of sleep disorders :)
