The Adventures of BitCoin Girl : Chapter 6. Play Some Yacht Rock

in story •  7 years ago

What started out as a innocent and friendly chat, turned into something much worse.

As the song came to an end, Naomi lifted her head up to take another glance at the chaos unfolding in her Pink Pillow Room. The birds had calmed down a little, but were still flapping their wings in a show of bravado. The Llama was now out of the referee uniform and was seeming to try to put on some pink tights or at least trying to compare them to another pair of pants on the floor. Why a llama would need pants was too much for Naomi to worry about as it seemed almost normal compared to what else had been going on. She saw the Bucket off to the side, he had taken a marker and drawn a stream and he was pretending to hop from rock to rock, stopping for a short time to turn and tell an imaginary person to watch their step. She looks around and saw others in the room talking or just standing, but she couldn't see the Crazy Man. As she was sitting there absorbing the action of the room, she felt a tingle on her neck and a feeling that someone was watching her. She started to look down at her phone to select a new song and then she saw a face next to hers reflected in the screen. Startled, Naomi jumped back, but a hand stopped her.

"Ahh! Where did you come from?", Naomi screamed, loudly enough to stop all the commotion in the room.

"I'm always here, Naomi.", the Crazy Man said, "I'm always watching."

While his voice was calm, it was eerily calm, as the voice of a sociopath killer trying to get his prey from stop running. Naomi stood up and regained her composure. She look at her hand, quickly turned off her phone music player and stuck it into her pocket.

"We need to talk about that.", the Crazy Man said as he pointed to her phone.

"My phone?", Naomi replied in a firm tone. She felt that she needed to start taking control of the situation. Too much craziness already had happened and it was hard to keep focus on reality. Naomi put her hand into her pocket with the phone, thinking that the Crazy Man was going to take her last life-line to the real world.

"No. The song. We need to talk about Taylor's song and how it will take us To the Moon!", said the Crazy Man, which then piqued Naomi's interest.

She had been a huge fan of Taylor Swift and making money. Maybe there was something worth pursuing with these mad people that might get her in the same place with Taylor. She remembered the dream where she was touring the country in a Winnebago decked out in cryptocurrency icons. Her travels would take her from town to town, talking about cryptocurrency as if she was a circus barker revving up the crowd for the Big Top show.

.."And then late one night, while passing through Vegas, to her surprise, a tour bus pulled up beside hers. As she stretch to peak out and see the occupants, her heart begun to flutter as Taylor stepped out the door".."

Naomi had lost herself in her thoughts again and didn't notice that the room was getting rowdy again. The birds were at it again, but this time it was worse. Two of the birds had gotten into a mud pit and were slinging it back at each other. All of a sudden Naomi noticed what was going on and was broken from her pleasant dream state.

"What is that smell?", Naomi ask with a slight disgust in her voice. The Bucket pointed to the birds in the corner and then ran towards them. He grabbed them both by the neck and brought them front in center to Naomi.

"Shit birds. Flush shit birds into sewer?", the Bucket asked, like a good tin soldier.

Naomi eyes opened wider as she realized that the birds weren't in a mud pile, but actually wrestling around in a dung heap. Not wondering where it came from, since it could have been from either the birds or the llama, she put up her hand to stop the Bucket. "No. Don't flush them. I don't want to be cruel, to even vile little creatures like these.", Naomi said the the authority and grace of a benevolent ruler.

"The queen has spoken. Follow the queen!" the Llama shouted out as to make sure that everyone in the room was paying attention to the ruling. The Crazy Man gave a disappointing look but then nodded his head.

"I'm sure you probably expected the room to have a different feel to it. Maybe like a yacht or..." the Crazy Man started

"A seasteading house!!" Naomi interrupted with glee. "Yes, can we make the Pink Pillow Room feel like a seasteading house? Out in the tropics with the sweet breeze of the ocean blowing through." Naomi continued, "Oh, how I want to be a seasteader, it is my life goal." The Llama began hoping around room whistling a two tone note and then saying "Aye, aye captain!" Naomi reached down to one of the kittens still roaming around and picked him up, she seemed caught up in the joy and exuberance of the Llama's actions. She began squeezing the little kitten and said "Would you like to stay with me in my seasteading home little kitty?" Naomi stopped and looked at the kitten, who hadn't been very disruptive in the room and in fact was very polite. "You need a name, you little cutie." Naomi said in a higher pitched voice, "I'm going to call you little Adam. Yes, the first little Adam on the seasteading home." Naomi continued skipping around with the kitten in almost a sort of a dance with the Llama.

The Crazy Man looked a little bewildered by Naomi's actions and then decided to get back her attention. "Have you ever been out on a sailboat? Have you ever been out in the ocean, Naomi?", he bellowed out, which stopped the gleeful dance mid stride.

Naomi look at the Crazy Man and smiled, "Of course not! I'm a Perthian, I've never been out of the marine preserve!"

The Crazy Man raised his arm and pointed up his finger, but his attempt to get more clarification on the issue was interrupted by the Llama. The Llama was flipping and flopping around more than it had before. It started sticking its tongue out and started making noised as if it was choking on something. The scene was pathetic and disgusting and everyone in the room stood frozen staring at the spectacle. Then the Llama stopped stood straight from head to tail and the room was quiet. The Bucket put out his arm and opened his hand in what looked like a gesture to calm the Llama. He begin to move forward, but before he got through his first step the Llama burst into flame. As the smell of burning animal hair filled the room, it sounded as if someone shouted.

It's time to get to work.

The llama's body quickly burnt to ash and fell to the floor. The smoke that filled the room started to group itself back together as if it was funneling itself back into the ash pile. Static electricity started snapping off of everyone and everything in the room, jumping back to the smoke pillar. And just as it would seem that everyone would be electrocuted, every thing stopped and a bright light appeared just above the floor where the Llama had once stood. A figure stepped out of the light.

"I am David.", the figure said.
