"I'm sorry about that, I thought you two are related because of the last name," the teacher said. All through that day, Jennifer was seething Cynthia understood that jennifer did not like her enough to tell that were related by blood.

It was so obvious that jennifer and her mother did not welcome her. From the first day Cynthia arrived her uncle's house, she had sensed the hostility of her aunt and cousin. Her aunt had quickly begun to assign household chores to her. As if she had come to become the housemaid.

"When you wake up in the morning, you will sweep the entire house, scrub the parlour floor and kitchen. Walking up time is five in the morning. You will do the dishes immediately after every meal," she had been saying when her puzzled husband had cut her short.
