Day 5 - Part 2

Well I decided to stay here today and probably tomorrow as well. I need the rest and I need to re-supply water and food reserves. I sent out a few snares and as there is lots of rabbits in the area.

Spent a hour or more today practicing with my compound bow. I prefer to use my bow over a gun as it makes little to no noise. I went to the Jeff’s truck today two different times to see if anyone else had passed by and there was no foot tracks. I wonder if they all decided to spend the winter beside the lake and pool their resources?? Maybe they started out and are trapped in the snow? I guess I may never figure it out.

I still haven’t opened my Faraday Box yet but I feel as though I should. The suspense is killing me. But if we are under attack there is nothing saying that it won’t happen again. I have also thought if it was the sun and a CME than the threat is probably over with. It’s been five days since the event and the sun spot would have moved to the other side of the sun by now.

I have added some fur bows to the bottom of my shelter to make it softer and warmer for tonight’s sleep. Plus the smell is amazing.

I know once I get to RR 217 there is a good size river and some decent fishing in the summer time. Not sure if it has fish in the winter but one can hope.

I need to start thinking long term and reality plays a big part in this. I figure it could 45-60 days to walk back to my place if everything goes good. If things play out the way I think they will play out there might not be any reason to go back because there might not be anything to go back to.

Some good news I think I just heard one of my figure four snare traps go off! I can’t wait till morning to go check it! Be nice to have more fresh meat.
