A starving pup was found wondering around the streets in Croatia. Not only was this tiny creature's eyes under attack by infection, he was also covered in the mange. If you look at some of the early pictures below, you will see how he looked like something from the set of a horror movie.
Some people even made comments of Frodo (the pup) looked scary like the devil. It was obious Frodo needed urgent help. He was taken to Klaudija Sigurnjak, who is a veteran animal rescuer.
“I was stunned,” Klaudija told The Dodo. “I could hardly believe it was really a dog. I immediately set about rescuing him.” Sigurnjak used food as a bribe to win over Frodo's trust. Initually it seemed like an impossible task, but the pup was soon given all the love and care he needed to start his new life. “He was full of fleas and ticks, and starved to the bone. We were not sure whether or not he’d survive.”
Unfortunately, nobody could save Frodo's eye, it was beyond repair. Although only having one eye, he proved to have a lot of fight inside of him. “His transformation was phenomenal,” Sigurnjak said. “We never dreamt that he would be so beautiful.” After an amazing recovery and re-building his spirit, Frodo was put up for adoption. It wasn't long before he found a new family.

When Frodo was first rescued, he was in such a bad way, they struggled to recognize it was a dog.
Covered in mange and both eyes full of infection, Frodo was in a bad way.

Veteran animal rescuer Klaudija Sigurnjak used all her experience and did everything she could to save Frodo.
Although losing an eye, Frodo is now unrecognizable, as you will see in the unbelievable transformation below.
