Welcome To The Steemit Story Chain
Well hello there and welcome to the 7th Steemit Story Chain contest where you become the writer of the story. The contest is sponsored by the amazing Whaleshares project and there are 100 Whaleshares for the Steemian who writes the most creative and original part of the story.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the last story chain and I would like to particularly give a shout out to @mikepm74, @dcwordofmouth, @sostrin, @lucyridingmoosey and @tinajordan. You're efforts were greatly appreciated. After a long session with my co-judge, the genius that is @nikflossus, we have determined a winner.

Just to remind you of @lucyridingmoosey's winning part I have featured it below.
I turned, ran back into the house and slammed the front door. Could this be real?
I heard a thump as something hit the door. Then another. Then another.
With shaking hands I grabbed a chair and wedged it under the door handle.
What did I know about Gremlins? Only that I'd watched the film last night.
I stared around trying to clear my mind. Was there a connection? Was I even thinking clearly?
A series of loud thumps hit the door in rapid succession and I ran into the lounge. There, on top of the television was the pile of DVD's I'd watched last night on my new DVD player. The Gremlins box was on the top.
I picked up the DVD box and opened it. The box was empty. It was still in the player.
Was I really taking this seriously? I heard the sound of smashing glass in the hall and crouched down to the new player I'd bought yesterday from a grinning salesman with a long white beard.
REALITY PLAYER™
I checked the LCD display. The film was still playing.
There was another loud crash, this time from behind me, followed by a long jabbering laugh. In a panic I jabbed the first button I saw. Something inside the machine whirred and the laughter stopped. On the display a new icon started to flash:
CHANGING DVD – PLEASE WAIT...

I had only been home from school about twenty minutes and I was sat in my lounge watching television, when I heard someone calling me. I put down my soda and went into the kitchen to see who it was. I couldn't see anyone but then I heard him again, 'Hayley, Hayley come here my darling can you?'. The voice was coming from outside, in the back garden. I went out to investigate. 'Hayley, step over here', he said. The voice was coming from the shed. 'Hello, who's that?' I said in a tense curiosity . 'Do you know where M is?', he asked. I thought who or what is M? 'Can you come here please, just come in, it's okay, don't worry I'm not going to harm you', he said warmly. I walked close to the shed but I couldn't see inside who it was because the light was too bright. 'Just come in, and let's talk, I need to know where M is, can you help me darling?' 'Sure, but who are you?' I asked again. There was no reply. I walked into the shed.
1 The voice appeared to be coming from somewhere in the back corner. The blinding light, paired with the ridiculous amount of contents that were stored in the shed made it hard to navigate. "Please, where are you and who is M?" I asked, maybe a bit loudly. The door slammed behind me and the bright light dimmed. Turning on the small light that hung from the ceiling, I was startled by a boy, he was not quite a man yet, but stood near as tall as myself. His eyes were a piercing purple, and he looked as confused as I felt. "Where is M?", he demanded of me. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid that I haven't a clue who M is." I managed to utter. Bursting into tears the boy exclaimed "They said you would know! I can't get better without M.". I reached out to comfort the boy and lead him into my house, his skin, although normal in appearance was cold to the touch. After we were settled into my home, the boy began to to open up about "M". M was an item or possibly an entity, that part I was still unsure of. Either way, the elders sent the boy to me to be a guide to find it, the boy claimed to have traveled from the past, when he spoke his name I started to believe his claim.

As we sat the boy down on the settee he seemed confused, pressing the flowery fabric with his palms.
'This isn't M', he said plaintively. My mother and I shook out heads in agreement.
After a while his lower lip started to tremble. I hugged him and my mother brought him some hot tea. He took the cup gingerly and stared at it.
'You have to drink it', I explained.
Watching me with his strange purple eyes he took a sip, started at the heat and dropped the cup. He watched the tea soak into the beige carpet.
'This isn't M', he said, as if he had somehow expected to find what he was looking for in my mother's chintzy china.
For the rest of the evening, as we talked to him, fed him and tried to ask him questions, this phrase was all we could get out of him.
When it grew dark my mother went upstairs and made up the spare room. Then we led him upstairs, showed him to the bathroom and gave him some of my father's old pyjamas to put on. When he came out of the bathroom wearing the ill fitting clothes with his unhappy face he looked like some sort of victorian child convict.
'M wasn't in there,' he said sadly.
In the spare room we tucked him up in bed and wished him a good night. Looking wide awake he asked us whether M was coming.
'Maybe tomorrow,' said my mother, turning out the light and closing the door. She turned to me and whispered, 'what are we going to do?'
Suddenly there was a series of shouts from the purple eyed boy's room.
'M? M! It's you. It's really you.'
My mother flung the door open....

Elias was sitting on a chair in front an old commodore 64 computer. It was turned on and the cursor was blinking on the screen. “Elias is everything ok?” asked the nice older women. Elias didn’t answer his purple eyes seemed to catch the light of the computer screen and seemed to almost glow. “Ashley! Ashley come here…..” Elias could hear her voice trailing off as she left the room, maybe to find the younger woman. “Yes M I understand” said Elias. He starting typing at the keyboard and the screen filled with ones and zeros. Elias shook his head as if he had understood. Ashley and her mother had entered the room. “Mom, I didn’t even think that old thing worked anymore. What is he doing? “Ashley mother shook her head slowly as if she was confused. “ Elias honey? Are you ok? “She said softy. Elias turned to the both of them and calmly said “Yes, everything is clear now. I understand what my mission is here. Let’s go downstairs and I will tell you what I can. “
Elias explained to my mother and me that he was not entirely human. He was a hybrid. He was human on the outside but he had a cybernetic enhanced brain. Time was an illusion. He came from the past but he explained that he also came from the future. Something about the folding of dimensions and that the science was beyond our understanding. He came to this place to meet Ashley. There was going to be something that she discovered in the future that would have horrible consequences to the continuum. M was his contact here. He didn’t know what his true mission was here until M relayed it to him. Elias told me that his mission was to be my Teacher. He explained that with his guidance it might just be possible to avoid disaster. I just stood there looking at my mother. She looked at me and shook her head. “Elias Honey it’s been a long day. Let’s get some sleep and we can talk about all of this tomorrow.

For the life of me, I couldn't ease myself into sleep that night. My thoughts were all over the place, and the overbearing sense of anxiety simply would not allow me to rest. The few times I managed to doze, my dreams presented a tiring replay of the evening's events.
In an effort to calm my nerves, I made my way to the kitchen for a cup of chamomile tea, and it was there that it hit me. Buried beneath years of memories, something that my late father had told me surfaced with clarity in my mind.
A few months before his passing, Father and I had been restoring an antique trunk in the very shed where Elias first appeared. My hands trembled now, remembering a somewhat spiritual and, what I had thought, weird conversation that we shared as we worked. Father had eased into a discussion of past and parallel lives, touching on something I still couldn't wrap my brain around..... alternate dimensions.
The trunk!! Most of them had secret compartments or linings that pulled away for the purpose of hiding valuables or private matters. Daybreak was still a few hours away, and I didn't want to wake my mother, for surely she would think I was insane. Moving quietly towards the back door, and trying my best to turn the knob without making a sound, I made my way outside into the dark, only to find Elias there at the bottom of the steps.
I almost detected a sparkle in those strange eyes of his....

'I thought you'd look for that,' he said in a level voice.
'Oh hello Elias,' I said. I smiled at him to let him know everything was ok.
'Come here,' he said. Something in his tone made me feel alarmed. I walked towards him. Was he upset, angry, or just still being strange?
'Did you find M,' I asked
'Yes it's here. Come closer.' This didn't feel right at all. And he had something behind his back.
'Elias you're scaring me,' I said. He nodded, agreeing that he was scaring me. I stopped.
'I'm not coming any closer,' I said, my voice shaky.
'That's quite alright, he said, 'I'll come to you. I've got something for you.' Then he ran towards me pulling from behind him a massive...
