Hi everybody! Enjoying your Saturday? Nice, me too.
I'm sharing some pictures and short stories from my recent explorations. As many of you know, i love to spend time outdoors as long as the weather is fine.
Well, we have been planning with some friends for some time already an exploration into some old tunnels dug into the limestone cliffs. We have flashlights, batteries and other supplies ready and hopefully the short stories will come to an end with us exploring the tunnels and making it back out in one piece :)
This weekend, though, we decided to scour the top of these cliffs, where the tunnels are. For that, depending on where you start, you need to pass through a dense forest and an old military area with sinkholes and suspicious mounds. Since we started off from the wrong side of the forest, this turned out to be quite the trip.
I've never been the one to read a map thoroughly and this deserted road seems to be as good a place as any to take the forest path.
The forest looks inviting, pretty. The play of colours is spectacular. What can go wrong?
Doesn't look so bad... forest air, trees, nature. Only thing... there's actually no path. No problem, let's follow the butterflies.
These tiny plants, whatever they are, look cool. All's good.
Magically, the path has disappeared. The forest has changed and branches crackling and moving with the wind start playing tricks on one's mind. Somehow the forest starts to look like the Blair Witch forest.
The thicket is getting dense. Where the hell are we? Even the sun has hid itself. Weather has got very cold somehow and i think i can hear howling deeper in the forest
Agh! A giant spider! Wait... its just a bush of some sorts. Or is it?
If you fall into this creek, you will fall into an eternal sleep until you become a part of the forest undergrowth. Mirkwood anyone?
The forest starts to change again. Somethings happening...
We have made it to the other edge of the forest. Our feet are only wet up to the knees and we only had to run from wild beasts a couple of times.
Yay, we have reached the military area. Last time i was here i was a kid, maybe 13-14 years old. No military here now... only sinkholes and other deathtraps.
End of part 1.
This story will continue next week when we explore the surrounding areas on the cliffs above the abondoned tunnels. Thanks for reading.
Disclaimer: Some of the events in this story have been amplified and may not have happened exactly as described.
I have an excellent sense of direction even without a GPS and the forest is actually not that big
I'm impressed @furious-one !

Hey, I was just wondering where all of this is set? It looks beautiful, like Europe or north America :)

This is in Tallinn, Estonia, but might as well be anywhere, as i have added some tiny fictional elements here and there ;)
