Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived two close friends, Rahul and Karan. They had grown up together since childhood and were always ready to help each other. Rahul was calm by nature, while Karan was lively and brave. Despite their differences in temperament, their friendship was unbreakable.
Near the village was a dense forest, where people often went to cut wood and gather fruits. But dangerous wild animals also lived in that forest, so the villagers were always cautious. One day, Rahul and Karan thought, "Why not spend some time in the forest and also gather some fruits?" So, they both set out toward the forest.
As soon as they entered the forest, they were enchanted by the chirping of birds and the rustling of the trees. The two friends rested under the trees and started talking. Suddenly, Karan saw something shining in a part of the forest. Out of curiosity, he moved toward it, and Rahul followed him.
They both went deeper into the forest. Soon, they realized that they had lost their way. Rahul, worried, said, "Karan, we should go back. We don't know what dangers might be here."
Karan laughed and said, "There's nothing to be afraid of, Rahul. We are together. No animal would dare to approach us."
Just then, a deep roar was heard. They turned around and saw a giant bear standing before them. The hunger and anger were clearly visible in the bear's eyes. Both Rahul and Karan trembled with fear.
Suddenly, Karan noticed a tree and, without thinking, began to climb it. But Rahul, who wasn’t skilled at climbing trees, was left on the ground. From the tree, Karan shouted, "Rahul, hide quickly! The bear is coming!"
Rahul didn't know what to do. Then he remembered his grandfather’s words that bears don't attack things that seem dead. Immediately, he held his breath and lay down on the ground, motionless.
The bear came close to Rahul and began sniffing him. Rahul closed his eyes and remained completely still. The bear sniffed him, but thinking he was dead, it walked away.
Karan climbed down from the tree and approached Rahul. Laughing, he asked, "What did the bear whisper in your ear?"
Rahul seriously replied, "The bear told me that true friends are those who don’t abandon you in times of trouble."
Hearing this, Karan felt ashamed. He realized that to save his own life, he had left Rahul in front of the bear, while Rahul never complained. He understood his mistake and apologized to Rahul.
Rahul said, "Karan, friendship means standing by each other in both good and bad times. Today, through your behavior, I’ve understood the true value of a friend."
Karan promised never to leave his friend in trouble again. He learned from his mistake and resolved to become a true friend to Rahul in the future.
After this incident, Rahul and Karan's friendship became even stronger. Karan changed his nature and became a more responsible and reliable friend. Together, they learned to support each other and face all difficulties.
Moral of the Story:
This story teaches us that the value of true friendship is immense. It is only in times of trouble that we find out who our true friends are. A true friend is someone who stands by us in every situation, not just during happy times
