Just after the morning assembly, Joe's father arrived at the school. The principal asked him if his Son had told him what the matter was. I actually got home very late and he was already asleep and I left for the office very early to round off a work for my director before coming here. Joe's father said. What is the matter? you did not start it in your letter.
The Principal sent for Joe and before Joe arrived, two other fathers who always got the principal's invitation arrived. The principal sent for the sons of men. When they had all come, he told one of the boys, Debo to tell them what had happened.
We sneaked out of school yesterday to go to town and we were caught by a teacher, Debo a big boy said. How did you get out of school? the principal asked him. We jumped the fence at the back of the school, Debo said.
The fathers were surprised as they exchanged puzzled glances. The principal urged him to tell them how it had happened. It was henry Debo said indicating the third boy who brought up the idea.
He came to school with money and told us tht we should sneak out of school after the regiter ha been marked. I told Joseph and we convinced him to follow us. We then went to the back of the school and jumped the fence, Debo said.
Was this the first time? the principl asked. obviously, he had questioned the boys before now and just wanted them to tell the story themselves so their fathers could hear it from them.
