In my research to determine which theme to focus on for St. Patricks day, I found a lot of conflicting reports about the mythical Leprechaun.

This guy is a slippery little sucker.

Amongst the jumbled myths about rainbows, shamrocks, and little dudes that wear green, two things stood out.

1. Wishes

2. Somewhere at the end of the rainbow is this:

Modern leprechauns understand that wearable wealth is the way to go. Being a smaller stature (most leprechauns average 3 feet tall) carrying a pot of gold coins around becomes quite difficult and is bad for his posture.

In 2018 the prevailing wisdom amongst leprechauns is that to lessen ailments as they age they will only wear Menē 24k gold.

Sacrificing purity was not a viable option, but the ease and comfort of wearing their gold has taken precedent over the old ways of doing things. Not to mention they like the fashionability.

I also discovered that you can actually bait Leprechaun traps with gold, to try and capture one for his wishes! I am planning on leaving my Menē pot of gold overnight to try this.

I am somewhat concerned about capturing an entity that has so much power they are able to grant wishes, so if the Steemit community doesn’t hear from me for a while, you all will know where to look.
