 Words refused to form in her mouth, she continued to stare, he also did not remove his gaze from her.

"Hmmmn hmmm" amaka cleared her throat suddenly, they released themself as if an electricity current ran through them.She lifted her hands to wipe her tears

"I am sorry if I stained your shirt" she apologized to him. His mouth broke into a smile, revealing well arranged white set of teeth."You are forgiven" . He moved his gaze to Amaka "amy!, please take care of her okay!" He said to her as he walked away. Nike let out a blast of air she didn't realise she was keeping "holly molly, who in the world was that?"She asked incredously staring at his back. Amaka laughed out loud "don't worry, we all get that feeling "she said still smiling. "Let's get back to you" she replied looking serious "I thought you have passed the stage of crying over the things that happened in the past" she stated as she fixed Nike's face "you shouldn't let human beings and their actions dictate your mood" she added, Nike let out a sigh "I didn't mean to have that kind of emotional outburst , I just couldn't help it" she explained.

"promise me this wouldn't re occur"Nike asked holding her hands. Nike nodded, blinking rapidly to keep the tears away.

   The moment akin walked away, he released the tension in his shoulders.this was the first time he was being attracted to a lady at first sight. He was used to girls drooling over him, he never thought he would be in the same shoes one day, he caught himself smiling as he remembered the texture of skin against his skin, her body spray still smelling in his mid section where her body made contact with his, he wondered how a girl could smell so heavenly

"Tolani" he shouted as soon as he saw her walking towards her room, he walked up to meet her "tolani tell me, you didn't tell me you were inviting someone different from your usual barbie dolls" he said pulling her outside to the veranda. Tolani became confused "different?" "Yes na stop this your drama" he replied

"Okay , would you say you didn't invite that girl in blue top, with the nice long legs and beautiful face to match?" He explained

"Oh, oh, oh you mean Nike" she said smiling

"Is that her name?"

"Sure,adenike that's her name" she replied

"Wow such a nice name" he said looking at Nike through the window as she returned to the kitchen

"I am surprised you didn't talk to her, or do you need me to hook you guys up? She winked

Akin smiled " you know I don't need you to help me talk to any girl" he replied as they returned back to the house. He couldn't keep his gaze away from her all day.

  Nike almost slipped as she stepped out of the kitchen, he was still starring at her, she walked away quickly as she felt his look bore into her back.

  Soon it was party time, the house became crowded. Nike couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the number of people that were around, she sat at one side watching people dance and eat, she had eaten enough to last her a life time, she was feeling bloated. She gazed around looking for Amaka,after few seconds she found her dancing with one of the guys, she smiled.

" I would give anything to see you smile again" someone said suddenly beside her. She jumped suprisingly "wow, you scared me". He sat down on the chair beside her " I couldn't resist coming down here" he said. "Is that why you have been starring at me all day" she asked, squaring her shoulders. "Yes, but you have also had your share of starring" he replied. Embarrassment coloured her cheeks, she didn't expect him to notice. "You left me no choice " she said defensively.

"Okay, let's not argue, my name is akinwale, a family friend to the celebrant and also a doctor" he said

"But you don't look it" she replied looking amazed.

"I know" he shrugged " I get that a lot"

"I know" she replied, returning her attention to the party.

" Do you mind giving me your digit" he asked holding out his phone to her. She swallowed uneasily, she was surprised at the request , she quickly typed in her number. He beeped her immediately. " To be sure it is the correct number" he explained.

" Hey Akin" someone shouted from across the building,"I would see you later" he said, walking away.

Nike almost screamed in joy, she watched him walk towards the guy who called him, she wondered why he wasn't talking to the other girls who were all giving him the green light signal. She glanced at her watch and noticed it was getting late, she quickly packed their bags and went in search of Amaka.

  They stood at the junction for almost an hour, bikes and cars refused to go to their destination, they debated whether to return to the party and sleep at Tolani's place or to walk to the next junction, the decided to do the second. They walked slowly gisting about the party and laughing when a car made a very loud horn,Nike closed her ear, deciding to give the driver a piece of her mind if she has the chance to see him but she stammered when she saw the driver, it was Akin!

" Can I drop you girls ar home?" He asked smiling. Nike became tongue tied, she couldn't control herself

" We don't mind" Amaka said, coming to her rescue.Nike smiled thankfully at her as they entered the car. All through the drive, they kept stealing glances at each other as he and Amaka argued on a topic that Nike didn't catch. " Home swwet home" she said happily as he parked infornt of their hostel. She yawned sleepily "thank you for today" she said as they stepped out of the car"

"Nike!" Akin called her back, his heart saddened as he saw her leave , Nike was surprised he knows her name, her mind went to Tolani, of course who else would have told him, she thought as she walked towards him.

" I don't know your plans for tomorrow, If you don't mind, I would like to take you out to dinner" he said, his body tense as he awaited her reply.

" No problem" she was excited at the thought of seeing him again

" Thank you, don't let me keep you waiting then, good night"

" Good night" she replied as she climbed the stairs leading to her room.
