The first day, I started working with odds against me. I chained my feet and glued my face to the lightings. This will help me look for a foothold above the jungle roof. Wondering if I'll ever be able to see the infinity.
The second day, not much changed and still doing what I was doing yesterday. The air smelled thick it was suffocating. So this is my life from now on. Tomorrow is going to be another day but the same like before.
...
The tenth day, something happened, A pair of couple downstairs fighting over a piece of bread. Of all things why that. I was mistaken, they are not a couple, anymore.
...
The fifteenth day was like no other, only, it poured heavily. The workplace was as gloomy like that of the heavens.
...
Day 31st, a new assignment. Great! More work.
...
Day 45th, assignment finished, by a hair.
...
Day 70th, my colleagues invited me to a drink. Had fun, drank lots and slept well.
...
Day 98th, work.
...
Day 101st, work.
...
..... work
.... work
.... work work
....work work work work

(RUN AWAY)

.............................
Arrived at the Metro. Got to climb the stairs. Got to work
Open door, and.....
....Hmmm?!
Where am I?
It's not dark but its too quiet. There is no one in sight nor are there any sound.
Wait, there! Air, wind, breeze! I feel it. This must be the way.
But where? How did I get lost?
No matter must get out. Going to be late. Already 2 pm.
Been walking this way for some time now but seem to no end.
Where is this freedom I'm smelling from?
Looking at other directions, none.
Looking at my watch, 2 minutes? Wasn't it an hour 15 minutes?
Wait. Food? Street food? This way must be the way out. Hungry.
Mmm. Scent getting sweeter. Light noise. This is the way.
Yes! Finally, some stairs, but upwards. How far did I venture in there?
The hall echoed to every step I took. I'm getting out now and I will be free.
Then I saw an old man lying down on the side of the path. I'm glad to see someone, even if it's a bagger before me. I'll ask directions. "Excuse me, sir?" I enquired,"but where can I find the way out."
"Take out a penny and make offerings. Only light hints our lives". He answered. Hmm, whatever does mean.
What an odd thing to say? I handed him a Ten for retaining my sanity only by his company. Because that is worth much at the moment. Off I left after bidding him fare-de-well.
Now I've entered a new hall. But It's empty again and I've lost the sweet scent street food.
Suddenly to my right I saw the "Exit". It was so bright that it looked like a heaven's pathway leading me out.
I'm finally free. There were the noises made by the people that welcomed me back to the real world.
I've never feared loneliness before, that is why I shall treasure it from now on. I remember the hall, where I had gotten myself lost was number was 3.
I enquired one of the station's men about it.
"That's off limits, sir." answered the man, "Whats' more is that it has been abandoned 80 years ago. The halls have been sealed shut so that all would be able to notice it". "Also," he continued with haste and a concerned look on his face, "that particular station is rumored cursed that leads men to HELL itself. Best consider paying no mind to it and your safe".
With a grim feeling in my soul, I heeded his advice without question.
WRITER'S THOUGHTS
I hope you all enjoyed the roller coaster ride with the Protagonist. This story is a composition written in with the depiction from the "THIRD LEVEL". The "Level" was considered to be an escape from the earthly world or the human world into a fantasy world that exists nowhere but is created from our own mind out of panic and anxiety.
So depending on the state of one's mind, it can be regarded as a dream or a nightmare. Live a happy and healthy life free from doubts. Because everyone goes through at one time. It is common in all societies, especially in the city life. People over there are bound to become workaholics which usually leads them to their doom/ downfall. It's a given though, as every day is a battle for survival.
Good luck to Workers, do not lose.
