Stories from donkeys mouth part 4: Donkey Tales from India.

Today I will share with you a folk-tale which is prevalent in donkey haat. We have heard many tales involving donkey with other animals like lion, jackal, dog and off-course human too. In most of tales (not all) donkey is shown as foolish animal. It is one of tales I have heard in which donkey is shown as useful and a bold animal.

Some prevalent folk tales about donkey are:

Story goes this way.......

Once upon a time, a donkey and a loin met. Loin always shouted that he is the most courageous, powerful and helpful animal.
*Donkey argued you may be strong and courageous but not at all useful and helpful.
Loin got furious and shouted at him “ I am a king of jungle, I do hunting and all the animal have great respect for me”
Donkey replied “ You are a king who does not rule, you are a hunter who does not hunt your wife hunts for you and all animals respect you only out fear”
Loin said “ So you want to say you are more able animal then myself”.
A man was passing nearby he heard conversation; he was looking for someone for help to carry his brick bags. He climbed upon a tree and shouted “Respected sir I can be judge”
Loin respectfully told man “ Gentleman please come down, be our judge. We will be happy to be judged by your wisdom.”
Man Replied “ Thank you sir for your courtesy, I know you might not be hungry by wisdom which you appreciate does not allow me to comedown”
Donkey laughed. Loin shouted “ you idiot, look how much he respects me”
“ I agree sir he respects you but out of fear, please be the judge respectable human ”
