A very lucky layoff
One day I arrived with some delay to the office, the boss's face showed discomfort and his gestures did not foreshadow anything good for me. It was the third time in the month that came with a five minute delay. The problem was the traffic, coincidence or not, it prevented me from arriving just in time for the review and turning on the machines on the day I was responsible for the operation.
The machines were running, everyone was looking at me with a certain air of repudiation while some murmured softly as I walked to the boss's office. I expected a strong warning, the first, after five years without failures. To my surprise the boss was not alone, he was accompanied by a representative of the human talent office of the corporation, I immediately sensed that he would be fired.
In the lobby of the office, a young man was waiting to speak with the boss, I immediately deduced my replacement. What a lack of consideration! I thought, all that discourse about the invaluable importance of the worker who was proclaimed in induction courses, we are only an interchangeable piece within the organizational machinery.
I took my check and the few things that could allow us to have in the office, leaving forever that place that took a large part of the time that I didn't devote to my home. I didn't want to go straight home, I needed to think about my situation and so I wandered through the central park, turned off my cell phone, I didn't want any trouble, just thinking.
Once I made the passes with myself, I walked to the house as usual after leaving the tram, my wife with tears in her eyes threw herself on me telling me, love I thought you were dead. I watched her surprised hearing the news about the explosion of the refinery where, hours before, I was fired. I understood the popular saying: There is no harm that for good does not come.

Ahh so this isnt a true story. You got me bro :P

Hello @vipservice,
Of course not! But, the story itself, if it's realistic. It could probably happen. Don't you think?

Hello @crytokannon,
Right! It's not about being conformist, nothing like that. The important thing is the attitude towards the problems, the doors close and others open. If you noticed in the story, there are several aspects to consider and reflect. For example, the murmur of the companions before the supposed misfortune of the other, the double moral of the corporations, the competition for time: family life against working life, and misfortune itself.
Thank you very much for stopping by.
